Exeldro just commented on this video and he showed me that there is a audio filter that allows you to apply motion to sources. In other words, OBS HAS A NATIVE SOLUTION THAT WAS THERE THE ENTIRE TIME!!!! I will be making a video explaining how to pull it off soon. Be sure to subscribe so you're notified when that video gets released.

Did you know that you can trigger the effects using the audio move filter? The audio move filter allows you to trigger effects when audio reaches a set level. Combining this with an equalizer filter you can trigger effects on low or high frequencies in the music.

I tried this, it’s a cool feature. I had my logo jump but anything with words that bounces to music will hurt your eyes. Maybe if the bounce came from the center and not the corner. So I found something I stream about that I know bounces like that. Now it’s perfect. Anyway, thank you for sharing this. It’s really cool.

Hey Scott, first time caller...lol I love things bumping to the beat as I am a creator and life long DJ. In your video you selected a song and as I am mixing I choose every song on the fly. Is it as simple as point to the audio output source I use to get the audio into OBS... Im hoping so. This got me thinking after seeing this audio filter used. It usually the video that gets all the filters. So i just wanted to thank you for doing what you do because between you and Michael tutorials that my stream looks what IMO think is seriously bad ass. Lemme know on my question above.

Yes, the end game is to output the audio with USB into your computer and then you would add that sound as a "Audio Input Capture" it's the first source on the list. I hope my answer helps. FYI: The move transition does move objects to the beat of music automatically. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqa8eGehbc13e5o

very cool, but how do i attach the hotkey to the beat of the music? alas, i did find a nifty use for the spectralizer. i made a scene. called it pursuit. found a cute image of a shuttle, and an alien ship. lol. setup the spectralizer (phaser beam haha) with two bars (cuz one didn't work for me) with 0 spacing and 1 pixel wide at like 400 pixels long. then, using transition editor, i rotated the phaser beam :D now when i talk, the alien shoots at the shuttle.
@A_Lesser_Man3 жыл бұрын
i guess i could add in a second phaser for the shuttle, too! another spectralizer, setup the same way, only, the spectralizer "listens" to my guest/music audio! lol
@ScottFichter3 жыл бұрын
Hi aTad, this method uses hotkeys so that you move the source to the music manually. There is another way to automatically accomplish this. Watch this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqa8eGehbc13e5o

So I'm halfway through the Review Motion Sojourn, Scott. This one was especially good to go back on, because I'm going to be adding a moving source that will be coming and going into and out of every scene (8 so far, but it will be 14 or 15 total. I have a "lounge", the room art is almost 10k pixels by 4k - essentially "two sides" of a lounge/bar (drawn) and I have groups - little clusters of seating (individual files, down to the "candle light glow" added to each source) with art that allows guests to have their cameras in the scenes and make sense of it all. So each scene has every group and file (one or two exceptions, with single source glitch shader transitions to account for that extra source (so it doesn't just fade and zoom away and look out of place) So basically, I can create a scene anywhere in the space, and Zoom/Pan over to them, and with proper sizing and placement, I can make it look natural, or I can have some of them swoop in with dramatic angles, etc (I'm leaning towards "natural" throughout. A slight dramatic swoop or two to give a window screen the limelight here and there) So *my* camera will be within a monitor or "robot head without a body" that's on a cocktail tray that looks like an antique silver tray had a baby with the USS Enterprise. That will be my move source - and tying it to the "Room" group, I will be able to zip it around and enter or leave any scene or have several places within each scene for it to move to. So this one was *especially helpful* on the laborious process of programming steps. I still haven't taken the plunge on Lioranboard yet (I have it) but I will continue this Playlist you linked me. I'm thinking I want the USS Cocktail Tray to have a slight up and down "bobbing" motion, subtle, when in place. It might be on one of these next videos, or maybe it's like the 3rd thing you learn on lioranboard. But again, this was great! I'm watching a third time right now to internalize the process. If you want to see any of the scenes in action, let me know! I also have a game studio with the same concept all finished. The bar is more subtle but way more complicated. Cheers!

"If you hit ctrl+D it will center the image" THIS is reason 2763 why I *hate* OBS (and love it) D?! Why D?! Whether there's a reason or not, it's not intuitive. How about ctrl+numpad, where the corresponding number on the pad places it there?.... Something! Anything better than a random letter. WE HAVE ENOUGH STUFF TO KEEP TRACK OF, OBS! 🤣🤣🤣💀
