Love the art in this. I've been a manor fan of Golden Age comics since back when I could still get some 1940s and a lot of 1950s comics at yardsales for just nickles and dimes. Connected to that, even though objectively Alex Raymond's work and similar are far better quality than these (particularly the people), I actually prefer these. And I especially like the background color choices. Mellow, so they don't distract from/compete with the characters and all. Golden Age comics often missed in that, instead having equally or more bold colors for the walls and buildings causing the heroes to get lost visually. Thanks for showing so much of this.

I'd like to find some of the 50s stories. I've always had a soft spot for 50s style science fiction comics. The EC stuff was always a personal favorite, especially if Wally Wood or Al Williamson were drawing the strips. Which suddenly reminds of a book I haven't mentioned yet! One of these upcoming weeks I'll show it off if you guys like this retro future style!

I used to check out from the library the big, hardbound book of dailies and Sundays and own a copy as an adult. I would love to find affordable copies of both of these Sunday volumes for affordable price. Thanks for the flip through, OiM.

I noticed that they switched to Buddy instead of Buck for the Sunday strips, but I was never quite sure why they did that. I used to have a book that gave sample runs from each decade up to the 70 or 80s. That was fun, seeing how the dailies changed over time.

That does sound cool! I always enjoy seeing different generations interpretations of what the future looks like.
