Hey gents, my buddy and I came across your channel a month or 2 ago. After the 1st video that I saw I purchased the Monza 26” for myself, 2 SE bikes (29” Big Ripper and 26” Blocks Flyer) & a Throne (29” Pac-Man) for a few of my adult kids. But, I’ve been shopping around and couldn’t figure out a 29” for myself until this latest video. During your video I pulled the trigger on the 29”+ SE Monster Quad while you introduced yours. Thanks for keeping me entertained and re-introducing me to BMX & Big Bike BMX’s. It’s wheelie time!

Same boat guys. After the early to mid 80's BMX days (Rode a Blue '83 Mongoose) I spent decades looking for a similar experience on high dollar mountain bikes, and clunky beach cruisers until I bought my first OM Flyer in 2008 and then all of the dots somehow reconnected. Now my garage is full of them.

I still have my bmx racebike from the 80s...Stu "The Man" Thomsen was my racing hero back in the day, however the Redline Pro-Lines were pricey back then in Australia. So I never had one when racing, so I used an Australian bike brand at the time. Six years ago, I got my very own pair of Red line Pro-Lines in 20in and 24in sizes. On my recent 60th birthday, I got myself a set of Skyway graphite tuffs in both 20/24in sizes for my Redlines...at last I had the wheels I lusted for, after waiting nearly 40 years. Tuffs wheels were my favorite wheels as I was a mad jumper, spoke wheels were never my fave wheelset as I hated wheel truing. Great collection guys, you both are proud to own your fleet of bikes.

@cruisinginthe8086 ай бұрын
Building a bike to what you want is definitely more fun and you can make it just how you want it. But itʻs going to be more expensive for sure to pick up the parts separately. For example, getting a complete Monza is like $695 right now and it comes with parts you can use right out of the box. Itʻs a good place to start because you can ride right away and then slowly swap out the parts you want to improve or change the colors on. If you have the time to pick up parts separately, do that. But if you want to keep costs down, pick up a complete bike and then slowlly change out the parts. I hope this helps! Thanks for the comment and for watching! I am sorry it took so long for me to respond.

I've watched this particular video about six times just because I love seeing all the project bikes and what you've done different with each one plus it gives me a little insight on what components are good ones like the infamous Paul brake levers.💥 You've mentioned that on the Super Cross bike, the Paul brakes seem to stick out farther at the top. Does the rear triangle on the Super Cross seem narrower than your other bikes where the brake mounts attach or is it just a characteristic of the Paul brake arms? After all the Super Cross does have a unique rear triangle.
@cruisinginthe8086 ай бұрын
The Paulʻs are shallow where the brake pads are bolted on to the calipers. So you really need a brake pad with a very shallow pad. Even moving the spacers out on the other side of the caliper mount helps but not enough. The levers are fire but Iʻm not a fan of the calipers. Thanks for the comment and for watching! Sorry it took me so long to respond!

That Hutch must shine like a diamond in the sun. I like the internal cable routing on the Race Inc., the white spokes are fancy. I think the custom Monza 26" is my favorite. Where are the Mag Wheels? Too heavy?
@cruisinginthe8088 ай бұрын
The mag wheels we showed a few videos ago are for the GT build coming up. Iʻm waiting on the powder coater to finish it and weʻll begin putting it together. Thanks man! 🤙🏻

Scoot your rear wheel inwards and reset your Paul brakes to straighten them out.
@cruisinginthe8086 ай бұрын
Weʻve tried all sorts of things to give that caliper more space and nothing weʻve found makes a difference. Not sure if we tried scooting the rear wheel more inward though so we can try that next. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!

@johncarlson22586 ай бұрын
Springs inside the headset? Wow, that's a new one for me. I've never heard of that, nor can I conceive what a spring would be for. Would you be able to direct me somewhere online that I might look into this? You've got me wondering what I might be missing out on.🚴♀

All you have is new school bikes. No old school bikes?? I collected for 20yrs and had around 30 bikes. I only kept 4 now and am pretty happy. 85 pk, 83 24” raceinc, 2000 20”&24 “ ub . I do kinda miss my 24” technique. The hanebrink forks made it look different. Dan is a really cool guy and made a unique fork.

I don’t remember what happened to my Mongoose, I sold my Diamond Back Silver Streak to buy my Kuwahara Laser Lite, and then my mom sold it while I was in college for $50. @@cruisinginthe808 I understand. I still fit on my 20” 2000 gt ultrabox. My 24” ultrabox is still in a box for that reason. 20” bikes just rip with a 45/15. I may build a 26”. Bmx bike. unfortunately, I can’t put a 44 or 45 tooth sprocket on the front of 26” size frames. I use to race velodrome and like big gearing.

Put some cruising tires to have less drag on the ground.

Had a mighty goose and a ammaco 202 when I was a kid broke all the local records on that might goose that bike was the nuts thinking of getting an adult BMX and looking at s.e bikes p k ribber or big ripper?
@cruisinginthe8082 ай бұрын
What size bike do you think you’d want? Have you had a chance to ride any yet? The 24 is the closest to what we knew back as a kid. It’s smaller and much easier to handle. The bigger you go up from there adds stability but you then have a harder time to rip it up on a track or jumps. Not sure what you want to ride this for. If you’re just looking to cruise around any of the SE bikes are good. Same with the Monzas that just came out with a 27.5 they have as a pre-order right now. My best advice is to see if you can get to a local bike shop to jump on a few to see what you like the best. Good luck man and keep us posted on what you decide to get! 🤙🏼
