That face when Natasha said "You weren't really my sister" 😥 I feel like she was longing for Natasha, Melina, and Alexei's presence hoping that she would be rescued from the Red Room. In the film, we see that her childish-bahavior sometimes manifests and when the truth slaps, she can't help but cried and isolated herself during the reunion scene. PS. If you will read the comics, Yelena is way more antagonist type like of widow but I am glad that Marvel changed that while maintaning her angst when she's fighting.

And I think Nat was equally longing for a family all her life (she literally considered the Avengers as one, I think she was the only one of the team to do so), it's just that being older that Yelena, she was aware of the truth and thus desillusioned and repressed the hope/hide it more, to avoid deception and even more hurt.

I think she may be actually the first marvel female character I really love. I liked Natasha, she was cool, but something never clicked. I never cared about any other young female character in marvel movies. They all felt like either men with breasts or crazy, wired ladies. Yelena feels like a real person. Plot prediction for the Hawkeye series Yelena is going to go after Barton. Gonna be a big climatic fight between them. During the story though, Clint is going to keep explaining that Natasha sacrificed herself so that they could get the stone and bring everyone back. After a moment of processing what happened, she comes to accept the truth, and begins to start moving forward, with Clint helping her the same way he did with Natasha when she joined shield. Also, Kevin Feige has stated that they are going to address whether or not Yelena was affected by the snap. So if she vanished in the initial snap, Yelena could be more moved and understanding of why Natasha chose to sacrifice herself.

Man it would be something to see her lead the sequel (which most likely is bound to happen) & then the trilogy coming to an end with one last chaotic reunion by her having to chase or being chased by a dark version of Nat from the multiverse (given that Loki has opened the door for all types of characters variants). No but seriously we know her character got in to STAY, however her chemistry with Nat can’t get just ONE film, that would be a crime.
