It's smart to change the ID on leaflet maps. Because if you draw on a map, and the ID is used on another map, both maps get the drawings. So maps should have unique IDs. PS. Love these videos. I know Obsidian well, but always wanted to play games like that.

Thank you for great videos. Right now I'm moving my notes mostly handwritten to Obsidian and your guides I consider most useful. Is there GitHub repository for templates with may be general vault structure?

Hi Josh! Just finding these now and have been following along with Lets learn Obsidian 1 & 2. I am really excited with what I have thus far from your instruction but am having a hard time following what videos to be watching next or where to look? Watching this one I am realizing I dont have realmworks and can't keep up with your instruction without it. Any tips on where to look in your content for a very new obsidian beginner (a brand new DM and a long time player) from the Let's Learn Obsidian 2 video?

Oh this is such an old video. I organise everything here now. www.obsidianttrpgtutorials.com You absolutely don't need realm works. These early videos was me learning my way too. Jump into the site and start with the getting started section. Jump into community and supprt too. We have a very active discord server.

It can be done like a wiki infobox? Being in the side?
@JoshPlunkett3 ай бұрын
@Gastronomya yes. Lots of us use the its theme which has a infobox feature that makes side aligned tables.

How are the variable names in the template used to render the page that appears in view mode? There's so much that is not being shown.
@JoshPlunkett3 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the header data? Anything at the top that appears between a --- and a --- is the header section where you define metadata/tags. It won't be rendered but can be used in other things like dataview.
@Shango3 жыл бұрын
@@JoshPlunkett No, not the header data. That's the only part that I *DO* understand. I'm not seeing the markdown that renders the page in view mode. How are the variables in the headers used to render it?
@JoshPlunkett3 жыл бұрын
@@Shango Oh that's all dependant on the plugin. In this video I'm using TTRPG Statblocks primarily which basically provides documentation on all the variables that it recognises. All I did was copy that into a template to save me looking it up each time. Javalent (the developer) does something in the background to weave all that text into the pretty stat-block. No idea how any of that works sorry.
@Shango3 жыл бұрын
Let me explain it with more specific info. @09:07, you have the template for "Bob the Beast" and you're changing the information in the template. On the line that has "fage_stats: [number, number, number, ...]" and you've changed "number" to 10, 12, 14, 12, 10, 8. In view mode @09:08 that translates into STR 10, DEX 12, CON 14 ... etc. OK where is the markdown that renders the view mode of that page? How is it taking the "10" from the header and putting it in that rendered view to show up after "STR"? Where is the markdown that indicates that "STR" needs to displayed in bold, etc, etc, etc. Where is the markdown that shows the graphical red lines? Where is the markdown that indicates the big bold red letter "BOB THE BEAST" in the rendered view mode? None of that is in the header. So where is it?
@JoshPlunkett3 жыл бұрын
@@Shango no idea. That's all handled by the plugin in the background somewhere. I would assume it's in the .obsidian/plugin/statblock folder. If you want to understand how that works I would recommend speaking jumping into the official discord. They have a channel dedicated to plugin development and javalent is very active there.

Hi Josh, Do you still use the TTRPG Stat Block plugin in your current set of templates? If not, what have you done instead? Thanks.
