Obstetric analgesia is pain relief in labor; anesthesia is the abolition of sufficient sensation to allow operative delivery. Different types of analgesia in labor include Inhalational, Systemic Injection like Pethidine, Nalbuphine, Diamorphine, Regional, Epidural and Spinal etc. The non- pharmacological methods include Psychological support like Positive Attitude, Good Support, Conditioning (Physical Mental Relaxation Hypnosis, Physical, Massage/Immersion in warm water, Relaxation therapy, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), Acupuncture, Aromatherapy and Reflexology etc.
