My mother had a double uterus, one with a wall separating it into 2 sections, not the normal 2 seperate uteruses. At 14-16 weeks pregnant she suffered a miscarriage and went back to normal weight.. Then at "what would have been" about 28- 30 weeks, she began to hemorrhage and was taken in for an emergency Hysterectomy. That's when the doctors discovered the double uterus and hiding in the other side they found me! A premie weighing 2 lbs of just nearly transparent red skin and bones. I was kept for 2 months in the hospital and came home for Christmas. That was 66 years ago. Both of my parents were shocked, but very happy as besides having my sister 2 years before with no pregnancy issues, mom had had many miscarriages and facing a Hysterectomy they thought they'd never have another child. My mother was asked to sign lots of paperwork to study her type of uterus condition as before this, the medical tests weren't near what they are today, so not much was known about her type of condition, especially miscarriage of one baby, followed by a live birth 2-3 months later. The Lord blessed them, and definitely blessed me!

Similar kind of thing with me, my mother had preeclampsia they already told her I had died. However, when they went to operate and actually pulled me out because she was dying, they found that I was alive now since they had already told my mother, I was dead. They only told my father that I was alive because they did not expect me to live through the night. after three days, my dad finally went and told my mother they had a girl because he just expected me to die as well and didn’t want to upset my mother 33 years later I was having surgery local hospital ever go to and a woman comes over and says I recognize your name. I was your baby nurse when you were in NICU at the time I was one of the smallest babies like 1 lbs. 8 oz. nobody lived they started having mother donate breastmilk, and they actually all went out and got doll ‘ clothes for me because clothes didn’t exist for babies small nor did diapers really the first preemie diaper they got went up to my neck kind of gave up that was amazing to see that woman after so many years and I still remembered me now the lady that posted above I would like to know if she was blinded as well because my understanding was for years that because preemies were 100% oxygen most of them were blind and that’s why they told me that I had lost the majority of my vision

@ilovemyservicedog8862 Wow! I received too much O2 as did a preemie cousin born a year after me, We both had lazy eyes, his were severely crossed, and has worn glasses and had surgeries. My left eye was affected relating in 20/400 vision, the eye wandered and crossed in when I was tired, but from age 2 I had glasses with a frosted or occluded lense up until 12. I also wore watches over my good eye to strengthen the left. It did grow stronger, and I actually didn't need glasses from 16 to 40! Now I need cataract surgery bit the doctor says that given my age, I was one of the lucky ones that only got lazy eye. I've heard my late aunt who was my mom's RN who said The Lions clubs had raised money for surgery as an infant because the eye was severely crossed, but My grandmother, a strong Christian woman had started a prayer chain, and we strongly believe that mam and I survived because of the Grace of the Lord in answered prayer.

The true story this comes from is actually beautiful. A very low income couple had been saving money for years to have a baby. The first child was delivered, and then 26 days later they had twins. While they weren't expecting them and weren't in a good place financially to take care of three kids suddenly, thwir entire community came together and has been helping them raise the children.

It runs in my family apparently. We've found out about 3 that had 2 uteruses, 4 fallopian tubes, and 4 ovaries. My cousin was the only one that was originally told by her doctor (back in 1993) and the others were in the 70s and the 50s....the doctors didn't tell them and just removed the second set. They found it in their medical records when my cousin was diagnosed.

How did they miss it on ANY of the ultrasounds or the birth even!?
@DoKuShOsTaR
@DoKuShOsTaR 9 ай бұрын
@@Delicate_DisasterI would love to hear someone with actual medical expertise give their opinion this. My guess is that the first uterus and baby was sort of in front of the other, so the ultrasound only saw that one until the other baby was out of the way? I know twins have been missed due to being blocked by siblings in the womb. Or perhaps the second womb was just in a strange position, so when doing a normal ultrasound and only seeing one baby, they had no reason to assume two more were hiding elsewhere. As for the birth event, I’m assuming the second uterus was implanted at a later date than the first one was. So babies probably weren’t full-term when the first baby was, and I guess being in a separate uterus prevented them from also delivering? Crazy to think about, but if the hormones didn’t initiate birth then??? Doctors definitely shouldn’t have missed it though LMAO. I KIND of get it, because you’d have no real reason to assume there’s a hidden second uterus that’s also containing a foetus or two. Unless they were hearing another heartbeat during check-ups. But they should have checked after she didn’t lose the belly after her first birth, imo, even if it can be normal.

My mom has this same condition and she had gotten pregnant with the older baby in like her main uterus and two younger ones in her secondary uterus. We were all only expecting the singular one. But one day in like her beginning stages of her second trimester we got into a little fender bender. We went to the hospital they said everything was fine. We ended up having to rush there at like 2:00 a.m. on Mother’s Day which was like a week later because she was in excruciating pain. Come to find out the “main baby” was pretty much going through the stages of miscarriage. So they did some ultrasounds once that happened because my mom’s pain did not in the slightest let up. Found out she had twins in the back uterus. But because they were like a month apart from the first baby they were affected too badly by the miscarriage. So we left the hospital that Mother’s Day Morning (around 11:00 am) in 2017 having just lost triplets. The hospital was very comforting though and tried to do virtual check ups. My mom would just sit in the babies room for hours unless she was with my little brother or doing things to help me with graduation. That went on until hurricane Irma destroyed the house. She was devastated at first but she needed a new scenery anyway. However, they may not be with us in body or the remnants of a room they never got to see, but always in ours hearts. We were able to get them crem@ted and they have a special spot next to my grandfather ❤️

@@Ariel-lol it was most definitely. After a lovely apartment manager got us into a 2br apartment (my 17-year old self at the time and my just turned 5-years old brother had to share a room) we had to get rid of our pets(don’t worry they all went to good and loving homes! One, Rockella, even became a firehouse dog❤️). The same night we finished moving in my dad and I weren’t feeling well so we went to the hospital (the same one we were just at in May) and we got admitted. They had to rush my dad back for intubation and draining off his lungs and a couple of his organs began to fail so he was in an induced coma for 1 1/2 months that they weren’t sure if he was going to make it out. I on the other hand had pneumonia and the flu(several different variants at that) but I was able to get discharged. I had started a new job right before the hurricane and needed the money to really get like the gas and lights etc. turned on as my mom and little brother and I practically lived at the hospital during that whole time my dad was there. I would send her to the apartment to shower and rest comfortably then when she would come back I’d buy them food and go right back to work😅. When my dad finally came home it he had to do pt to even walk again (also found out he has a decent sized bl00d clot🙃) I had to go back into the hospital (which meant less days of work ) where I was diagnosed with a complex that they had not seen. Fast forward to October 2019 and I’m being rushed in an ambulance for passing out due to shortness of breath 🙃. Same complex that me and my dad shared in 2017. Then boom March 2020 and the hospital calls us to tell us that we had Covid before it became the pandemic that it is. Fast forward to that July and now our whole house of 4 has it and we just binge watched ’Shameless’ in the living room together cause the hospitals were full (I was on my camping cot, my mom and dad on the sofa and my brother on the chase lounge). They were fine after about 2 1/2ish weeks while I was Covid positive for over 2 months…. Literally quarantined and dy!ng in my room. I had to type up my resignation letter while hooked up to my nebulizer while my mom put food in the hall for me

This happened to one of my friends but instead of getting pregnant in both, she got an IUD and then ended up getting pregnant but not knowing until she was 1 week away from giving birth (she assumed she was gaining weight from the IUD and also didn’t have her period because of it) but then went to the doctor for severe abdominal pain which she thought was her IUD being out of place but then she got hit with that major plot twist. Her baby is healthy, she is 2 years old now but they didn’t find the “missing IUD” or find out she has 2 uteruses until a few months ago.

Same story as me It is called a by coordinate. Uterus and I have four children and I didn't find out I had it until my third. I got an IUD and I had a dream that I took 73 pregnancy tests with Julia Roberts. I know it sounds crazy. My dreams are not like what I dreamed it comes thue. It's crazy. So I woke up at 5:00 in the morning and went to Walmart and I took the pregnancy test in the bathroom. I took five of them and yes it was positive. So I waited for the office open and called them went down there which they told me on the phone. It's probably just the medication. You can't be pregnant cuz at this time they were saying that IUD was 100% protective but I wanted another baby. I had to but my oldest was three at the time and then I had a 1-year-old but I wanted to have them close together so I pray every night I would still get pregnant lol. And she put the thing of my stomach and she said oh my god and I said what she said. Has anybody ever told you you have a by coordinate uterus and I said no ma'am and what is that? And she said well. It's shaped like a heart. You have two uterus so you could have two sets of twins. You could have one set of twins and one uterus and one set of twins and the other uterus. They have doctors fly down from all over the United States to come and they put me on like a Screen big as a movie screen to see because it was like one of the first times that had ever happened. I was so excited but it was so crazy and so they say it's genetically inherited so I have two girls and two boys so my girls could possibly have it but I didn't find out. I had it till my third baby and they said that they should have saw it or found it when they put my IUD in because you're supposed to use an ultrasound to put an IUD in and therefore she would have saw it. Well come to find out she moved to Ohio two weeks later and I got the midwife that I originally wanted and I was so happy and so excited and it was amazing but it's pretty neat because she said it's really rare and of course that's me. But I had one more baby after that and I never ended up having one baby and one leader and one another. But that would be really neat. So yeah pretty crazy. Who do you know these stories? Everybody told me you could have sued them and if the mat and I said no I wouldn't do that because then that would be like suing them because I got pregnant and I want my child. I prayed for my child every night and when he gets older what am I going to say? I sued them no It was the best miracle I could ever received. I received four miracles in my life and those are my children and I will forever be blessed and grateful and I thank God everyday for all four of my babies. Good luck to all you ladies out there and if you get pregnant mentioned him to look to see if you have a bike coordinate uterus lol. Good luck and may all your babies be healthy and you enjoy every second with them because time flies and I'm going to emotional wreck because mine are older. My baby still a baby while she's 11 but it's hard. It's rough. It's really hard because I still see them as they're all like 2 years old. So put your phone down but never second you can't with them. I never I never had a phone or anything. I have spent every second with my children while we try to and we would always do one-on-one date because we have four children but include them with washing dishes. They love that! Like anything? Cooking anything because by the time you turn around they're going to be graduating from high school and you're going to say where the hell did the time go. Love you all and God bless you and Merry Christmas! Here's to making a lot of new memories in our new chapter. I'm so excited and I'm so proud of each and every one of my children and I still get to do the younger stuff with my younger one because she's 11 but being a mom's the greatest gift you can ever be and I will never take it for granted. They're my life, they're my everything❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have since had a hysterectomy, but it was always fun telling doctors that I had to have two pap smears every time I went for a well woman.

My mom had a bicornuated uterus (basically her uterus was split in half, resulting in two womb cavities). She had actually been pregnant at one point with two babies, one in each half, and one was two weeks older than the other. Sadly, she miscarried, but I still think it would have been funny, having both babies with one being able to say they're *technically* two weeks older than the other lmao. Also, her two halves were not equal. One was larger than the other, to the point that all of my other siblings were in the smaller half and had no room to move so were breech and needed C-sections. They also were either induced on their due date, or came early. I was the only one in the big half (I jokingly say that I had the penthouse suite while they had a NYC studio apartment), so I had enough room to rotate, and was the only one born naturally. I also was 3 weeks late, so that's fun, too 😂

the babies would have to have been same gestational age. A woman has one menstrual cycle, even if she has two uteri, as cycle is governed by hormones. Maybe one of the babies was much smaller as the other one was getting more nutrients, not uncommon with twins.

@chinchillamdgamer
@chinchillamdgamer 9 ай бұрын
@@shawniemcgee2058chances are the second pregnancy was from the same egg. So identical twins. You know, as a doctor I can tell you it’s not like the tech to check baby heart beats is super advanced. Even a very knowledgeable doctor and ultrasound tech could have easily missed this. On top of that, ever seen this women whose baby bellies don’t even show? That’s because their uterus is like tilted, so they have a nearly flat abdomen but have 8+ months. It could have TOTALLY been the case. Being a doctor doesn’t mean this you’re a know it all. Plus, the rarer the conditions, the more likely it is to be overlooked because we don’t look for zebras.

After reading a lot of the comments I decided to Google what really happened. This was in Bangledesh, and nearly everybody there is poor, so she didn't know what was happening or how many babies she was carrying. The two in the same uterus were fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. And evidently it isn't bad medical practice for it not to get discovered earlier by ultrasound techs, especially there, as this is actually not something they typically look for.
@theshadowfax239
@theshadowfax239 3 ай бұрын
@@chinchillamdgamer LOL You're not a doctor. There's no way those babies would come from the same egg because they were in two separate uteruses. How can one egg be in two separate places? Also you can barely form a coherent sentence and you aren't using correct terminology. Tell me, what's the medical term for a tilted uterus? I know people lie on the internet all the time, but if you want to lie don't say you're a doctor when it's so easy to tell that you are not. I have an ultrasound tech, And there is no way that we would miss two uteruses, And we would not miss two fetuses unless we are in the early, early stages, I'm talking maybe 5 weeks in. Oh, and I'm sure a doctor would refer to themselves as a gamer in their KZbin handle. 😂 Oh my gosh you're probably between 14 and 16 years old, right? Learn to troll a little better my friend.

Finally someone that talks about this. All my life I couldn’t relate to anyone. I was diagnosed recently with it after being neglected by multiple doctors for years. Every time I had my period, I had nausea, fever and all the symptoms of a pregnancy but I wasn’t pregnant. And sometimes it came twice a month and doctors told me that it is something completely normal. Last year, my sister recommended me a great doctor and they did an ultrasound and it was there. And to confirm it a transvaginal ultrasound was made as well. So I have two perfectly symmetrical ones. And he was so nice to sit me down and have a deep conversation about everything. And now everything makes sense to me.
