According to police prosecution unfortunately, returning a stolen item does not cancel out the intent to steal. While returning an item or asset shows remorse, you still stole the item to begin with which means you intended to break the law and proceeded to do so and keep the stolen item until you felt remorse. That is how the prosecution views these matters. To the prosecution, once a person commits a crime, they can be tried in court. But good experiment lads

You know what will screw you over the security guards I bet they would delete the security footage. So it just shows you stealing and not given back... Please go back to shoddy MK and do a follow up video and ask if any police have been in contact with the security guards as you need to know if you can fly abroad or not as you don't want to be a fugitive (more Joe then anyone else as he was the ringleader)

Most of the time, even if you return a stolen object, you could still face theft charges. But it all depends on what you want. As was previously mentioned, the prosecution must demonstrate that you had the intent to permanently rob the owner of the property when you took it in order to convict you of theft
