based on what rudy said, i think it’s john james, full name jonathan james “jj” maybank. im pretty sure the obx showrunners said at one point they were going to go with john j, but since there was already a john b (and big john now that i think abt it), they couldn’t do that obvs - so they just went with jj. there’s also a theory that it comes from two of the three showrunners’ names: twin brothers josh and jonas pate.
