I live about an hour south of ocala and I ride both there and croom. I hate sand with all my life lol but a good set of scoop tires def helps a ton.

Had to give up my dirt bike. Looks fun, but I bought a quad and won't miss the sand. I still love the trail ride!❤

Hey John, I hear ya, just as long as you still get out there doesn’t matter what you’re riding. Thanks for watching and be safe!

What system and model are you guys using? For communication seemed to work really well
@2SixCyclesports2 ай бұрын
@@OseaD Hey O, thanks for watching and reaching out! We are using the Cardo Freecom 4 for our in-helmet communication. That said, if you're looking to buy I would go with the Pack Talk system. That wasn't available when we bought, 4-5 years ago. The new system they call "mesh" is much easier to pair and you can have a bigger group. Same company Cardo, just better tech! Good luck, and thanks again for watching!

Thank you for the quick response, great I’ve used Sena before but really like the way yours sounded. They were very clear. That would be perfect for a group or family out riding. Thanks again.

Never got to ride there before injuries took me out, but it looks pretty sketchy with plenty of opportunities for a head on collision with another vehicle or bike
@2SixCyclesports5 ай бұрын
Hey Dave, it can be pretty sketchy, we try to ride right, I actually like trying to discipline myself to maintain the right lane while cruising down the trail but if a SxS is coming the other way.. well. Thanks for watching and reaching out. Hope you enjoyed the video anyway. Check out some of the other ride videos on the channel of you haven't already. Some good spots around Florida and elsewhere. Be good!

I went out to the same trail my first time out in Ocala over a year ago, and it was nothing but powder sand. We left and found a different trailhead that wasn't so bad.

Hey Mitch, yeah if you're going to ride in FL sand is something you need to get comfortable with. What's amazing is how many different types of sand there is, and it's all fun! If you're looking for a harder packed soil, try going north. Check out the St Mary's Shoals videos on the channel. Nice single track and a firmer soil. Really nice!

@2SixCyclesports I'm from jax and used to ride 4 wheelers in the sand but spent 7 years riding dirtbikes in east Tennessee. After moving back and a street bike accident, I got back to dirt bikes a couple years ago. I've been going out to Osceola the most lately.
@gary8653 Жыл бұрын
lol a control freaks nightmare. everyone that rides in Florida has gone down in a sand rut. the method is stay off the seat, gas it and keep the front wheel lite and let the bike wiggle under you. Also only 5-6 lbs air in tires
@2SixCyclesports Жыл бұрын
You got it Gary! That’s exactly the technique. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!

@@2SixCyclesports yeah man, looked like a fun ride. I live in St.Pete, never been to that place. A little far for a day trip. Is it no registration required like Crooms?
@2SixCyclesports Жыл бұрын
@@gary8653 You are supposed to be registered I believe. But they allow 4 Wheelers there so not necessarily street legal as long as your not on any roads.
@johnboertmann9267 Жыл бұрын
In Ocala you need a ohv sticker to show its registered. They will ticket you without one. Also will ticket for riding on county roads.
@austindavis631410 ай бұрын
@@johnboertmann9267 Is this something new having to have a OHV sticker in the National forest? I know you have to have one in any Florida state forest but this is the first time Ive ever heard anyone say you need one in the national forest.

That area is really more fun after a good rain. The wet sand is like surfing compared to when it's dry.

You’re right Lilly! You can see in certain sections there is actually still some standing water.

Hey there, I use a Garmin Oregon 750t. It’s ok, it’s really more for hikers but I wasn’t going to pay $500+ for the one these guys in the KZbin videos are using. It will record tracks so that’s helpful or to set waypoints back to the truck so I don’t get lost. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the video.

Glade my lil group of friends aren't the only ones that are like fckin sand! You get used to it but I really wish Ocala would have some single trails so they wouldn't be all rutted by quads and sxs so much . Awesome work editing on this!

Thanks RNPM! It’s all good as long as you’re on two wheels right? Glad you enjoyed the video. There are some single track trails out there, check the other Ocala video on the channel, you’ll see some there. Have to go faster in that sand,lean back! 28-32mph on yellow works great.no engine breaking
@2SixCyclesports Жыл бұрын
Good advice, did you watch past the first section? The first section is marked for idle speed because of blind corners. Once we got out of there speeds increase and we were fine. But you’re absolutely right, speed is your friend in the sand. Thanks for the watch!
