Holy balls, this took too long to do! It’s still 2013, right?
The last episode of Doctor Whooves animated totally made me a liar. I lost motivation to animate for a while, focusing on other things and my second job. With the death of my primary laptop I had even less motivation to do things on an inferior laptop I had laying around; however that changed when I was finally able to install Adobe Flash CS6 to it and production went just as smoothly as I could have hoped for. Even though this dinky bit of animation took 2 years to upload, the total work I put into it runs at around 15 days. Lots of procrastination.
Some of you Eagle Eyes may have noticed some details in the video that are off compared to the Winter Wrap Up song in the actual show. Truth be told I only watched the episode twice 3 years ago and based the musical bit from memory. I wanted to put Rarity and Fluttershy next to the Doctor as he was trotting along, but I wanted this thing done by the time the 100th episode of MLP was released so I cut them out. Come to think of it, I did the rake wrong as well since it had a different handle in the show. Eh, too late to fix it now.
Heads up: I’m not planning to do any more Doctor Whooves animated bits for a good while longer. Instead I’m going to focus on smaller projects to help keep me from getting bored of animating. I know some of you want to see more of the Doctor, but I also know most of you will understand and wait patiently and be entertained by some of the things I plan to make.
The things I plan to do are:
-Remaster episode 12 of the Mentally Advanced Series by FimFlamFilosophy in Petirep’s style (possibly more if all goes well).
-More pony reenactments of “Home Movies” scenes with Coach McGuirk.
-VG Cats short that Omahdon was kind enough to engineer the audio for 3 years ago
-Two pony versions of songs from Kid Phonics 2 (Compound words and Homonyms)
-A music video with Tom Neighrer (or whatever his pony name is)
explaining photosynthesis with a Brittany Spears song.
-I might dabble with a Fluffle Puff short.
That’s my plan for the immediate future. If the whim strikes me to continue work on Doctor Whooves, I’ll strike while the iron is hot. I still don’t plan to make a patreon to help with the expenses, too much hassle on my end. On top of working at a bakery I now work part-time at a tennis center which gives me ample time to brainstorm ideas. A buddy of mine is going to build a custom PC for me so that’ll greatly help with video production.
