I'm thinking about getting one of these, just wish it had 128gb or 256gb sd card capability.

Thanks, motion looks terrible. I had heard good things about video quality if with reolink, however I'm not impressed. Everything looks blurry inyour first shot and the frame rate seems low . And when you walk by the camera with the bucket, you cannot make out your face so I'm not sure how secure I would feel using this. Are you showing it at its best settings?

From my experience with my camera a lot has to do with the WiFi signal at the camera. My signal varies a lot so sometimes the quality is very good and other times it can look like what you watched in his video. This is an issue with all of the WIFI cameras that I have used but for areas that are hard to use a POE type camera this is a good camera.

Hi I’m John from Italy I’m a big fan of your channel. I have a topic you can try that no one had done on KZbin. Here in Europe it is quite common for thieves to avoid detection in alarms (for wireless application’s) by using frequency jammers . I was wondering how this applies to the security camera world. My hypothesis is that wifi based systems would succumb to the interference and non record anything to the cloud or base station (as in the case of the Eufycam) leaving only the reolink Eco or argus to record to se this crating a safer system even though there is the risk of it being stolen. Would you be able to do a video to see which systems could better protect under this type of cyber attack. Thanks for all the great videos… love your channel. John

Good question. I will have to look into it. I would think that cameras that record to an on-board SD card would still record a motion event. You might not get the notification if the wifi is jammed. Some cameras will notify you if they go offline, so that might be a clue that something is wrong. But I have no experience with signal jammers. I will ask some of my (camera manufacturer) contacts about this.

Are the cloud storage or sd-card the only ways for you to view live footage or history footage? thanks.

Hello, how are you getting the wifi signal outside for the cameras to connect? how far can it go from house wifi? how can one boost the wifi as far as possible to set cameras a greater distance?
@overclockersclub5 жыл бұрын
Wifi signal strength and range are hard to predict. There are so many variables such as: the type of router, distance from router, number and type of obstacles between the camera and wifi source, other wifi interference sources. Range extenders can really help and there are many out there. I use a phone app called WiFi Sweetspots to test signal strength around the house, inside and out. I am surprised at how strong a signal can be, and then move two feet to one side and it drops to almost nothing. Wifi signals, like any radio wave, are absorbed and reflected by many different materials (bricks, concrete, aluminum siding, large refrigerators, water heaters, TVs, microwave ovens, etc). My Argus PT is about 25ft. from my main Linksys router. The signal has to go through two interior walls and part of the attic. I use a Linksys EA9500 for my main router and a range extender (Linksys RE9000) at the far end of the house (in the garage) to boost signal, and it really makes a difference for cameras on that end. Before they always cut in and out, but not with the extender. So it is difficult to answer your questions without knowing your network hardware, home construction / layout, and other factors like what other wifi signals are in your area.

The motion looks terrible:( Can't see anything. For the cash including the solar panel you might as well get an ANRAN or similar. You can define the area that is triggered by motion sensor, this means it will only record when someone is on the footpath or wherever you set it.
@ARaised5 жыл бұрын
Hi how is the solar panel? Does it fully power the camera? Additionally, do you have any experience in how it responds to cold (-20F)?
@overclockersclub5 жыл бұрын
The solar panel is meant to keep the battery charged, so you would want to make sure the camera is fully charged (it will have a partial charge from the factory). Place the panel where is gets as much direct sun as possible. And you want to adjust motion detection settings so that the camera is not going off all the time. If you put the camera in a high traffic area (lots of motion events) than the solar panel may have a hard time keeping the battery charged. But I have 3 of them, and they all keep the cameras charged - usually above 80%.
@overclockersclub5 жыл бұрын
As for -20F, that is rather cold. I will have to talk to the manufacturer about that...
@overclockersclub5 жыл бұрын
The specs show: Operating Temperature -10° to 55° C (14° to 131° F) It will probably work, but not guaranteed. I can say that I have several cameras that still function when it gets below zero F. But -20 is a bit extreme.

I own this camera but will not recommend it. The battery cannot be charged enough during the winter days and you cannot replace the battery because is not replaceable. After a week testings and checks by Reolink remote support and some negotiations they finally agree to replace the camera but on my own post expenses. They are around more than half of the price of the camera. I will definitely not recommend this camera at all. I bought it in March but in December the camera is not great anymore, Look at their other models or better any other brand.

I bought one of these cameras and sent it back for a refund, as despite it being only 12 feet away from my Netgear ORBI RBK50 mesh Wi-Fi router (which has a 4,000 square feet range) it kept on dropping out and would intermittently stream or fail to connect altogether whenever I tried to access it via the app or my PC. Incidentally, I have 2 other Ring cameras in my garden, sited further away than where I mounted this device, and they work perfectly. So, my advice would be to avoid this camera altogether, unless you plan on sticking it to the side of your wireless router where you may have some chance of it actually working properly. totally useless!

No common access makes this a dumb piece of plastic.
