Just bought these for 400$ after my Spec Ops Tool Vest took a shit after 2 years only… I only once went a different brand route for tools bags and that’s when I got those Spec ops never again I’m back to occidental and seeing these made me happy and after this review I can confirm my back will be too

Well detailed review. Thank you. Interesting to see how similar the selection of tools, bags, and vests can be in this internet age among carpenters from around the nation and around the world who do similar types of work. Yet curations and preferences are very subjective. I myself have the opposite take on belts vs. vests: I far prefer to carry most of the weight on my hips, as per the design of heavy mountain backpacks. Yet I really like to take advantage of the real estate on my upper torso to have my marking and layout tools handy. Fortunately, my wife is a professional seamstress, so I was able to have her fabricate a lightweight vest that I designed specifically for my "field desk" marking and layout tools, phone, and cut list. The vest is cut short, like the bare midriff practice jerseys worn in spring/summer football scrimmages, so it doesn't interfere with my toolbelt, when I need it. When I'm in the shop or go to measure up jobs, I can wear it without the belt and have everything I need. The rest of my rig is a Frankenstein hybrid of different premium components --- Occi, Diamondback, Akribis, and Buckaroo --- including an Occi left hand bag very similar to the design of your right hand bag. I love the light weight of their nylon line. Glad I found your channel.

Thanks for watching Michael! To be honesty, I do not care for either. I just find (for me) the vest is less bothersome.

The Occidental tool pouches are first class, and good looking. The lambswool pads are a huge help as well.

@@concentrichomesolutions Fantastic. I’ll stay tuned because I’m hoping to see an MFT and TS75 for Christmas. I think the track saw will see me through until I get a SawStop table saw.

Loads are better carried with the weight distribution of 70% hips, 30% shoulders. Thats how good backpacks are designed. I started 25 years ago with the Suspenda-vest and two bags. 25 feet of vertical ladders made me learn the above. I use the Stronghold suspenders with two bags for heavier loads. I still use the Suspendavest with lighter loads and in tight spaces with no bags.

But how does the vest smell? From this and other videos, I purchased a Occidental tool vest. I love it! Out of the box, the vest smells like a new car with leather interior!

Im moving to the Occidental tool vest due to your opening comments " looking for air support". Believe me that vest is less tactical looking then my Atlas46 Vest.

Looks like a great vest. How long do you believe this vest to last you? Looking to purchase but dont want to spend that kind of money any time soon afterwards, want something to last years to come.
