I listened to the video. One thing to clarify is that if divorced you cannot receive Holy Eucharist unless your divorce was annulled. Therefore, to be in line with the Holy Catholic Church, a person "eligible" for secular order, to be able to receive all of the Sacraments, must have marriage annulled.

Generally speaking, according to the CCC, divorce is not permitted; however, sometimes it is necessary. Please review your Catholic Catechism. Divorce and remarriage is NOT permitted in the Church and is a moral sin. Anyone in the state of mortal sin may not receive Holy Communion. Divorce is not the isolated condition.

@@MW-fv7ts You are correct first & foremost no divorce. I was referring to those whose marriage of divorce were deemed dissolved, such as due to abuse, or, mental issues that could harm the other emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually. In those cases, confession is the first step, if they have not made in a long time & may have mortal sin on their soul. I cannot find an answer re: receiving Holy Communion if divorced and remarried with or without an annulment Checked Baltimore Catechism (which didn't allow annulments back then) & the CCC 2nd Ed.2020. Someone told me you could receive as long as you went to confession & didn't have to wait for the annulment to go through.

Ordo Carmelitarum Discalceatorum (OCD) Order of the Discalced Carmelites. The friars (1st order) and nuns (2nd order) use OCD. The ‘S’ in OCDS is for Secular (3rd order) which is made up of the laity and priests who have made their final promise to become an OCDS. If you are asking perhaps what the difference is between OCDS and OCarm.: Subsequent to the reform of St. Teresa of Avila, the family of Carmel became, as it were, two “traditions” of Carmel - each with their First, Second and Third Order components. Those who remained with the original component have become known as the “O.Carm.s” (Order of Carmelites - Calced), and those who became part of the Teresian reform became known as the OCDS (Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites). Lay people in the O.Carm.s. have become known as T.O.C.s or T.O.Carm.s. (Third Order Carmelites) - i.e. Lay Carmelites, and those with the O.C.D.s have become known as O.C.D.s members - i.e. Secular Carmelites.
