My late husband, and I went there every single year. There was so many things to do. We would stay six days every time. We would go there on Sunday when everyone was leaving and then leave on Saturday when everyone was coming. I really really miss going, but I couldn’t go without him. It wouldn’t be the same.

Yeah, my family used to go there every year when I was a kid. I'd cry when it was time to leave. My dad is gone now. My mom is in a nursing home. I may go back some time but bring my cat as a new tradition. Ocean City MD is wonderful!

Agreed! Sundays are always the best if you're staying towards the week for sure and also more things to see and do without the huge crouds being in the way! Me, my mom and younger sisters always go any chance we get and been going for years, we love staying at the Oceanic by the inlet

I lived in Ocean City in 1982 when it was 40% the size it is today. And yet it was a paradise. Don't take it for granted. You are in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Once you hit the Boardwalk, you will never forget the feeling. Take your best spot and enjoy yourself. As my role model used to say: take care of yourself and each other.

Any hotel recommendations? Heading there with the family this summer for the first time

There are a ton of hotels and condos from downtown to north OC on the oceanfront, ocean block and bayside. It all depends what you are looking for. If you want to be near the action, stay on the boardwalk, it stretches out to 28th street. If you prefer a quieter scene, then north OC will be a better choice. If you like to see a drive thru OCMD, check out my OCMD driving tour. This may help you on the layout and distance from downtown to North OCMD. Good luck on your search!

Are the streets leading up to the boardwalk free parking or is there a cost?

Parking near the boardwalk you will need to pay a meter or pay to park at a parking lot. You may find street parking about a block or so west of the boardwalk and the further north you go, you will definitely find free street parking. Thanks for the visit!🙏🏼😀
