I have noticed what Heidi catches fewer fish. I have noted that she retrieves her line slower. I think maybe the musky are not recognizing the faster retrieve for what it is and just strike the movement. Lucky rabbit's foot or fish theory.

Its quicker to keep the hooks off of the flap 9 in a tackle box and just keep the trebles with split rings already attached and some split ring pliers to put the trebles on quick vrs untangling a bunch of big baits.🙂👍

Guys can I suggest something to try? When the musky is following your lure boat side slow down the retrieve.

A baitfish doesn’t slow down when it thinks it’s about to be eaten.. sometimes the musky is just in apex mode and doesn’t wanna eat but just run off, you speed it up during a follow to entice a predatory strike. I know what you mean though like if you slow down the fish will catch up to it, I get it.. but if you’ve ever seen a musky strike one when your ripping it, you’d be surprised on how fast they can actually burst during their strike!
