Ok. Besides the scene with Bruce and Julia, there's another movie reference in this movie: The scene with the "Night Fox" avoiding the lasers? Entrapment (1999) with Sean Connery and... CATHERINE ZETA-JONES.

This movie gets better on rewatches. When you know what's going on you'll pick up all the little bits and pieces that make this the brilliant piece of storytelling that it is. It cements this highbrow GTA kind of world full of side missions and plot-developments. It took a while, but it's now my favourite of the bunch. Please continue the series. Thirteen is an insanely fun movie and 8 is good as well, a tad simpler perhaps.

I like O12 overall. I love the chemistry, the "retro" vibe, the banter between characters. I don't like the heist aspect. Unfortunately it was a lot weaker and more chaotic. In O11 we could see parts of the planning and execution, and reveal was really strong because it just filled in the gaps for what we already knew about the plan. Here in O12, we just have a scene at the end explaining how everything was "pretend" and the actual heist was sth else which happened off-screen. So that's the main problem. But luckily, I love the cast and the vibe, so still enjoy it.

A little mote about Rusty and Isabel. I think it's really sweet seeing him in love here. You see him and you know he has his share of girlfriends but Isabel is obviously the one who he could never forget. The way he talks about her, that look on his face; Izzy is the one that was always special for him and I think it's sweet

I think what you may have been feeling is that this film didn't have the same kind of 60s Rat Pack, old Vegas, suaveness to it that the original had. This one felt much more like a globe-trotting early 2000s heist film. Which isn't necessarily bad, but it does erase a lot of the charm from the first one.

This one does have different formula & vibe from the 1st one. I don't really mind, coz I always enjoy the crew, their characters & interactions. They amped things up on Ocean's 13 though, and that one is my fave. I think you gonna love that one more.

Iirc, Bernie wasnt really active cause of filming schedule, he wasnt present for the most of it, and filmed the majority of scenes in a completely separate location

I think everyone considers this to be the worst of the 3. I think we all agree with what you said about it. It's an ok watch bc its a heist film, but the other two are much better.

Lol why did you pick at the 3D egg? Do you really not think that's a real thing? I don't mean the one they used in the movie was real, but that tech absolutely exist.

It's not and definitely not when this takes place. The holograms we have today don't work without a screen or substance to catch the light which would only work from a specific angle. We don't have anything that would pass a 3 dimensional inspection.

Soderbergh went bolder and more overtly experimental with the sequel, and it makes for a far more unique and interesting experience overall. Yeah, the plot is utterly preposterous and the filmmaking can be jarring sometimes (for those unfamiliar with how wild Soderbergh was as a director up to this point), but this is an effortlessly and expertly made film. Also, David Holmes went TOO hard for this score. I don't trust anyone who says this is "the worst/weakest one," because it only shows how content those people are with more of the same.

I enjoy the flick. It's always part of my Oceans run. Having said that... yeah... it doesn't quite land the same way. I respect that. They played with the formula to deliver something different. And in that... well... they kind of cheated us. We wanted to see this big heist and instead it was all slight of hand. So we got a magic show... illusion... more of a con game instead of a heist. Which can kind of feel disappointing once the story shows us behind the curtain. Yeah - it can be kind of cool to know how the trick works. But some folks find an emptiness once the magic bubble is popped. Especially if the trick seems remarkably simple compared to the illusion. I suspect a lot of folks never get past the bubble pop and the flick takes a hit because of it. Me? I still enjoy the flick. Not my fave of the series. But I always watch it.

This is the worst of the 3. Its just a big none of this even matters at the end of it all. The "plot twist" is reall lame.
