I hope it works out good for u. It hasn't been hot enough yet to really need it but when the rainy season and blistering heat we will need it!

@@12waythereadventures84 I got the bimini top installed and everything went well. I ordered some quick release brackets off amazon for it too, but the bimini supports barely fit in them because they are a bit too narrow. It was close enough that I was able to force it to fit, but the quick release isn't that useful if you have to force the pole into the bracket. I ended up shaving about 1/16th of an inch off the side of the little rubber eyehole bits that go into the bracket so it would fit easier. Not sure how that's going to affect the quality of the bimini long term though. Your hole drilling technique works great though. I will be using it to install a flip down ladder on the back tomorrow.

@@cameronarrowood6074 glad you got it put on! Temps about to start going up and that shade will be priceless in the heat of the summer! 👍
@@12waythereadventures84 How did you mount the side mounts to the side of the boat? I have the same kind and is worried about going through the side of the haul with screws?
@12waythereadventures844 ай бұрын
@@benwork-k2n I was worried about the same thing, but on my 2019 ps17 I drilled a really small hole where I wanted the mounting the holes on the rod holders to line up with and then took the bit out of the drill and by hand pushed it in till it hit the outer hull. Then I used a sharpie to mark the bit with the depth of room I had before I drilled in to the outer hull and cut my stainless screws so they were no longer than the mark on the drill bit. Then when I ran the screws in I did it by hand and hand my other hand on the outer hull to make sure it didn't feel like it would come through. It was a little nerve racking but take your time and you should be fine. I am not sure on the older first gen pro skiffs if it would work the same but I know it was fine on my 2019. An better way to do it would probably get some starboard PVC board at the hardware store and glue it to the hull with some 3m 5200 and run the mounting screws into that instead of pentrating the hull.

@@12waythereadventures84 Gluing some board on the side is a great idea. Wouldn't have ever thought of that. Thank you

@@benwork-k2n good deal, I hope u get them installed. They are great for storing rods when u want to have the bimini top up. Watch for leaving treble hooks on them cause my wife got snagged on one walking around the console. It wasn't fun pulling it out.

can you be able to adjust the back to be lower?
@12waythereadventures848 ай бұрын
On this model top, the rear height is stationary to the length of the rear support poles. You could mount the rear pole supports on a sliding track mount, or do away with the rear support poles and make some adjustable webbing straps like you tie the front down. My old top had straps on front and back and was super adjustable. Good luck and thanks for watching

How long did it take you to put it all together ?
@12waythereadventures849 ай бұрын
I was filming so it took a little longer than if I wasn't setting up the cameras and stuff. I would say I could have had it assembled and installed in about two hours if I was steady working on it. What took the most time was test fitting and finding the best location to mount it because I didn't want to drill holes in the boat and then not like it and want to move it.

@@12waythereadventures84 test fit is ideal .. i just bought skiff 17 also and the guys drilled too far back and left the screws there and drill new holes .. now, i need to figure out how to fix those holes. Any ideas how to patch up those holes?
