ok, first of all, don't tell me to relax. second, with a last name like 'taylor', even if it's just a user name, i'd expect better english. third, if something evolves 'in the shitty way', it's not evolving, it's de-volving. fourth, you say you hate people who talk shit about music that they don't know, but you follow that up by saying you hate so much old school rap because they talk about the same things, so you clearly don't know shit about good hip-hop because there are tons of various subjects in the lyrics of older hip-hop artists. fifth, if you have to ask what 'the problem' is with new school rap, you'll never understand. there is a lot a great newer rap, like these british artists, & many others, but it's all underground. the popular 'rap' of today is not quality hip-hop. idiots like drake, 2 chainz, young thug, iggy azelea, wiz khalifa, flo-rida, macklemore, lil wayne, all that sort of shit, is fucking terrible. sixth, by saying 'bla, bla, bla' about the lyrical content of the past that deals with ghetto life & the death of friends, you're exposing just how disrespectful you are towards the pioneers. seventh, i won't diss any style of music unless i've truly examined it, so i know what i'm talking about. eighth, trying to get all deep & serious about the evolution of humanity doesn't make you intelligent, you're just going way off topic. ninth, i've been a bonafide b-boy since 1986, were you even born back then? tenth, i left comments about beats, production, the way hip-hop sounds, not the lyrical content. an mc can rap about pigeons in a park, whatever, as long as the beats are actual hip-hop. weak drums with a 16 triplet hi-hat & digital keyboard sounds is not evolution, it's de-volution. eleventh, you want great modern hip-hop? vinnie paz, jedi mind tricks, apathy, celph-titled, lost children of babylon, diabolic, slaine, umang, people under the stairs, epidemic, split prophets, four owls, main flow, & so many more, but they won't get as popular as the commercial pop rappers because the masses can't handle the true sound of hip-hop. there will never be another era like the golden era of 1985 to 1997, just like rock n roll peaked in the 60's & 70's....public enemy, krs-one, ice-t, eric b & rakim, gang starr, epmd, kool g rap, de la soul, a tribe called quest, masta ace, cypress hill, 3rd bass, big daddy kane, kool moe dee, redman, x-clan, poor righteous teachers, paris, brand nubian, das efx, del, souls of mischief, house of pain, wu-tang, black moon & bootcamp, d.i.t.c. , common sense, jeru, run-dmc, pete rock & cl smooth.... i could keep going, but i won't. all good hip-hop that has been released since the year 2000 stays underground, if it gets popular enough to be on saturday night live or jimmy fallon or on the radio, it sucks, because it compromises the sound in order to get fans that are not hip-hop heads.
