* Warning* Graphic Rescue!
Denzil, Wally and Kat are at Pelican Point and have spotted a badly entangled seal. The team is not even sure if the poor seal is even moving. They drive as close as possible to catch it quick in case it starts moving towards the ocean. Denzil jumps off the car and grabs the seal. It has fishing line wrapped all around its body causing deep cuts all over. He is skinny, he likely has not been able togo hunting for a while. Ideally OCN would have taken this seal to the vet and a rehab center, but unfortunately there are no suitable rehab facilities in Namibia. Luckily we have seen in the past that our seals recover very well even from severe cuts like this one. It is probably due to good food availability and salt water. We will keep our eyes open to see if we can spot him again soon! 🦭
