Oceanic, a deep dive into the sound of waves.

This video presents a ride on selected presets of Oceanic. One instance of WaveBot has been used. No further post processing except a subtle added reverb.

Fascinating and mesmerizing sounds and images. What do the little creme, orange and black spheres represent, and how exactly do they relate to the 5 oscillators?

these are surface probes measuring the wave heights for modulation data. Their position is user defined. Also at these points the surface is horizontally and vertically scanned creating the waveform data for the wavetable oscillators. the waveform source of the what you hear.

The WaveBot can be seen as an additive synthesizer where its wavetables are being fueled up by Oceanic dynamically.

What you do hear is the ocean waves as audio waveforms. The application does not use any samples. If you want to trigger other instruments with ocean waves interaction you can use Waves CC midi plugin.
