I love these tours so much! Here in the US, we are easily impressed with any building over 200 yrs old. haha. We're a young country and I have yet to visit another older country. I would love to and see the history. This is the next best thing and you are a marvelous guide!

Absolutely wonderful walk through from beginning to end I loved it! And your camera work was great just the right pacing not to fast. Thank you so much. Really enjoy the history. Liked how you ended by sitting on the bench and seeing the view. I felt like I was walking with you the whole time. Well done!

Wonderful! Just wonderful! Thank you, Sarah! One thousand years of history and continuity. If not more. To all watching, just consider for a moment that any member of the public may walk into one of these ancient places unsupervised and experience this for themselves. A place that has stood for a thousand years. The respect for their past and their shared culture that generation after generation of English men and women have had to practice in order to make that possible is humbling. The trust that present generations-all unknown to each other individually-have to place in one another in order to allow this to carry on for future generations should be nothing less than awe inspiring. That is how a country gets to be a thousand years old.

Thank you so much for this journey to the chapel. I have a strong need to be in ancient and old churches, and those are hard to come by in America. We do have an ancient chapel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that I can visit. It was brought here from France, and Joan of Arc prayed in the church. It is a very scared space. I'm at my most spiritual when I am with the ancestors.

This was so interesting! I decided to look further into him after seeing the alternative spelling of the name (Botwulf) on Wiki, coupled with the fact that the Lutheran movement revered him. There wasn’t that much available (only did a quick search as I was on my way to the shops when I found the video & watched it instead☺️), but according to the info available in Swedish, in the days of agrarian society, St Botulf’s Day was supposed to be the best day of the year for planting turnips! So looking forward to your next historical video!💕

Fabulous - thank you! In Ireland where I live, like in England I am sure, the early christian churches were built on ancient sacred sites. In Ireland, on ancient round ring forts, or fairy forts as we often call them. Round, in ancient homage to the sun. I notice a few Celtic crosses in the grave yard. The early Irish Celtic monks, converted the Anglo-Saxons to christianity, but with the coming of the more powerful Roman Church into England with St Augustine, many of the Saxons jumped ship to Rome. St Dunstan, St Wilfred, and many more. The "exotic" Irish, with their strange tonsure, clothes, and customs were no longer wanted. And keeping Easter on the old dates, like the Jews at Passover, was a definite no no - so after the Synod of Whitby in 664 AD - they had to go.
