Celebrating the legacy of one of dance music’s most timeless acts, Above & Beyond and Justine Suissa present ‘OceanLab: The Anthology’, an extensive digital compilation released on Anjunabeats.
OceanLab is the chart-hitting project of Above & Beyond (Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki) and singer-songwriter Justine Suissa. Fifteen years after the release of their critically acclaimed 2008 LP, ‘Sirens of the Sea,’ The Anthology spans the full spectrum of the OceanLab sound, from early 2000s vocal trance classics to brand new remixes and never-before-heard acoustic reworks.
Four beloved OceanLab tracks see new acoustic reworks on this compilation: 'Miracle', 'Satellite', 'Sirens of the Sea', and 'On A Good Day'. Acoustic versions of these records were first featured on Above & Beyond’s 2014 ‘Acoustic’ album and subsequent live tour, which saw the British dance group debut a groundbreaking concert series in which they adapted a selection of their famous dance records with a 15-piece band and live vocals. Ten years later, these acoustic reworks have been remastered and now feature vocals by Justine Suissa for the very first time.
Alongside the Anthology digital compilation, Anjunabeats has released a limited edition vinyl box set. Housed in a premium-quality fabric-wrapped double slipcase with foil detailing, the box features four 12” single discs on crystal clear vinyl, a 10” ‘Another Chance’ single disc, and a special Anthology-edition repress of the original ‘Sirens of the Sea’ album. There is also an accompanying poster print, slipmat, and 28-page perfect-bound book containing notes from the band, never-before-seen photos, and exclusive sheet music arrangements with piano, guitar, and voice parts.
With a discography spanning over two decades - including top 20 UK single ‘Satellite’ (2004), two top 25 UK dance albums (‘Sirens of the Sea’ in 2008 and ‘Sirens of the Sea Remixed’ in 2009), and two top 10 UK dance singles (‘Clear Blue Water’ in 2003, and ‘Satellite’ in 2004) - OceanLab cemented themselves as a seminal dance act with an undeniably unique sound, where Justine Suissa’s compelling voice, lyrics and melodies take centre stage.
Above & Beyond's most recent single is their hit collaboration with Zoë Johnston, ‘Crazy Love’, an uplifting and ethereal trance record first debuted to 20,000 fans at the trio’s Group Therapy 500 celebration in Los Angeles in 2022. Really nice. I love all A & B stuff! However, I do wonder if autotune should be used on a piece with a lot of real instruments. It seems fine when there's a load of other synthesised instruments. 🤔 Those girls have some talent _and_ can sing in tune! 😄

There’s a great deal of people who do not care about God at all. I think they are screaming this, like a silent scream. This silent screams says; I do not care if God does exist or not. I mean they actually do not express this in words, but they tell this by their doings, life styles They set up objectives like having charisma, having perfect opposite-sex friendships, having Money and getting more and more pleasure out of lie, as the ultimate objectives of the life. These are of course very small objectives with respect to objectives set out by Islam. People live like this as if they were to live forever and there’s no death. They focus on these objectives so much that in time. They feel okay to overpower others to gain charisma. They put their carreers above everything or they only focus on having perfect opposite-sex friendships. They want to gain more Money and get more pleasure in life. Even thought people actually do not put this into words. They live as they do not care if God does exist or not in a way. They do not care at all and they even do not put Allah's existence on their agenda. We have to explain that if indeed God exists. This fact will reveal to be more important than anything else. We will have to explain to people that the existenceof God change everything. We need to tell the story of the pattern of life and push people into being more concious regarding the matters of life and death. Death is reality thet ca not and should not be taken lighlty.
