triggers have almost the same function as a microphone except they take vibrations from a hit on a particular drum and send it to a drum brain, which is plugged into an amp. on the brain you can change the sound of the hit, change volume, turn touch sensitivity off etc what most people do with triggers is turn off touch sensitivity so the fast hits with less power is the same volume as slower hits with more power

@missilesx3gt i know how to use audio software. i'm aware of the process of compression, eq, noise removal, etc. i've been doing it for years now. i'm not saying he has beat tracking. i'm saying that because he used protools and the drum track sounds so clean, it gives the illusion of being perfectly on time, when it is in fact not. i don't see what's so hard to understand.

Awesome,I have the exact same set-up,But how do you get your toms to go so low without hitting the bass drum? Or does it have to do with the bass size? Cause mines is a 24' and the toms are 12 and 14...=/
