I thoroughly loved this lecture on mud. Gems and crystals are nice, but mud is fun.

These are great! Hope you come back to the oceanography series at some point. Very well explained and presented, way more enjoyable than majority of my uni classes on these topics.

The second time I listened when I held the speaker to my ear I did hear a whisper that sounded like “Stop.” Stop what? A lecture on ocean floor sediments has just begun. What are we to stop? The immediate thought that occurs is: Stop polluting the ocean. Stop using the ocean as our trash dump where some junk may break down, its particulates ending on the ocean floor. But it is intriguing that the professor stopped the series here. Somehow in the great scope of the cosmos not the right time to continue?

These videos are great! Unfortunately, filming lectures at my university is forbidden and so I'm looking for videos about optical mineralogy and scandinavian ice sheet (sea-level changes in the Baltic Sea, how to identify glacial sediments and landforms like kames, for example, quaternary biostratigraphy and paleoecology). Will this channel make new videos about these subjects?

Clay size: I thought I heard in another lecture that Clay sediment doesn't move. This might have been in relation to groundwater flow. But here on the Wentworth chart I hear you say that clay moves rather freely. Could you clarify please?

Clay definitely moves in water but clay particles are so small that they have electromagnetic charges that become relevant and those charge attractions cause them to be sticky. As such, the force required to rip up clay sediments in water is greater than that for silt and sand but it is not impossible by any means.

Hello from the UK! I have watched all of your Oceanography and Physical Geology which are absolutely fascinating. I notice in many of them you say that this is just the intro to the subject. Do you have any recommendations for textbooks or online videos to learn more?
