They say that churches should promote the singing of classical hymns and psalms. In my church for example, back 10 years ago they used contemporary Christian music. But now they only use traditional hymn-like songs. They say that contemporary worship songs only promote ‘empty emotions’ and not true worship. They say that in churches songs should first have theological content rather than artistic beauty. So they avoid bands of the ‘hillsong’ type.
