as someone who's born and raised in LA, everything you said is too true. it's so hard to live here and there are some veryyyy interesting people. america's health care system is so flawed on top of it all. i feel so sad you didn't have a good experience. i can reassure you that there are a lot of really cool places with nice people, even if it's hard to find. if you go again i hope you have a much better experience !!

Native Angeleno here and yes, it has some difficult issues (like other major cities) and traffic can be miserable but it also has some of the most diverse, eclectic and interesting neighborhoods around. here in hawaii, we have public buses, and a monorail. Idk if its the same in the mainland

We have a bus system that is getting very expensive, and a lot of places don't have stops. They're also closing most stations.

I went to Ulta to get a hair mask and when I got to the reg I asked if I had any points to use and the girls jaw dropped and went “GIRL, you have 1300” (I don’t remember the exact number) and I was like oh is that a lot and she goes over to the little conversion chart and goes “babe that’s $178” I was so happy I just had to pay the $1.60 tax
