Thank you…When adding up the total % of oil phase ingredients,following the general rule you said we should use them at 20-30%(does this include the emulsifier and co-emulsifier) I calculated the oil phase ingredients for each formula you gave us and the total % of oil phase ingredients used (plant oils,butters,emulsifier and co emulsifier) are used between 34-35% Or are we not to calculate the emulsifier and co-Emulsifier with our oil phase ingredients)

So when formulating your formula needs to add up to 100% . Now some ingredients have specific usage rates that must be followed to yield a specific skin feel and also to have a stable end product. When formulating you need to research your ingredients so you can keep within range based on the thickness you are looking for or what the product will be used for. Hope this helps.

Hello Esther Thank you this video, its so educative Please as what phase/stage can i incorporate polysorbate 80 into my emulsifying body butter Thank you 😊

Don't put polysorbate 80 in body butter.not needed at all and not a healthy product for body butter.

Can marshmallow root gel be used as the liquid/thickener in making emulsified body butter?

@@dye2knit it's very hard to preserve marshmallow root and flax. It won't last to sell unless you use small calculations and a strong preservative,maybe two

Hi Oce, do you find that the body butter (formula #3) with the olivem 1000/glyceryl stearate, produces more of a "soaping" effect than the other two formulas?

Hi Oce, On LotionCrafter, the formulation guide for Olivem 1000 is not to exceed an oil phase of 25%, INCLUDING the olivem 1000. It doesn't say, but do you know if a fatty alcohol is used, is it ALSO supposed to be part of the 25% oil phase?
@OceNatural10 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes I am aware of their formulating guide and I have actually tested this . I made an emulsified butter with my oil phase totaling 25% including the emulsifying wax and I did a second formula with,the e.wax and fatty alcohol not being part of the 25% oil phase and it was stable months later . It all comes down to testing your formulas and seeing what works best . Olivem is a temperamental wax in my opinion and you have to test to see what works best in your formula
