Oh my God! When you said the box set paper thickness was different, I immediately ran to my set to check and you're right!!! When I got my box set, several of my books had serious production issues (pages double printed and pages mis-cut). I exchanged it and had the same issue with my new box! The staff at my local bookstore offered to let me swap my misprints out with the singles on the shelf and there's a difference in paper thickness!!! Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

I believe the box set versions are different from the individual releases. I have the first half in a box and the second half in individuals. I ended up sticking the stickers from the boxed versions on a laptop I had at the time so I kind of regret that. I picked up the second half of the series individually because I waited too long and the second box went out of print and the prices were ridiculous. My stuff is packed away right now or else I would double check the size.

Torn on if I wanna collect these or not. I like the pull out poster, and the single color page in the beginning, but is it worth $13? Will they complete the whole set? Also yes what if someone later releases a boxed set like the 2011 release, and which version/exclusive anything will they have? These are the important questions, and I am so torn.

I own both those boxed 2011 sets, as well as singles from the 2011 release. I remember being able to fit volume 12 of the single release into my box just fine, but I'll have to pull them out again to make sure. I could be mis remembering, but I do know one copy had yellowed, and I remember wanting to replacing it with a copy that had nicer, newer looking pages; not that phone book looking yellow.

Very cool. Agreed that anime has become wayyy more mainstream. When I was around 15, the only places you could get it were Suncoast, FYE and eBay, maybe a few toys at Walmart and the occasional VHS at a grocery store. (I found a SuperS tape at some grocery store on vacation or something. Wicked cool.) Now you can't swing a moonstick (haha, couldn't resist) without hitting merch at the bigger name brand retailers and it's the shiznit!
