We leave the Outer Banks and make our way towards the mainland of North Carolina. Along the way, we take two ferries stopping at Ocracoke Island which is a small town on a little island that is only accessible via ferry, then we drive an hour out of our way off to try donuts!

Love Ocracoke. Used to cross over on the ferry from Hatteras for 20 years- in a sand rail (dune buggy without a body). Just so much fun. The beach is huge, and the shops, bars, etc., in town are just delightful, and so are the people.

The free ferry from Ocrakoke to Hatteras Island used to take 30 minutes. Not sure what year, maybe late 90's, they decided dreading the inlet was too costly so the ferry now has to swinger wide and thus the trip is twice as long.

Hi Guys. I caught a glimpse of the Ms. HUGE Coffee Cup and Love It. Must be my roots from Brooklyn and Jersey. Nothing like a perfect cup of coffee as you wait in traffic doing the Jersey to Brooklyn commute every day. Gotta have Joe to keep the lids open. Back in the day, 45 years ago, Dad and I did the Ocracoke ferry going up the coast from Myrtle Beach back to NYC. Some fishing here, food there and yea, DONUTS Too. Ha Ha. Weird though, I really felt like a DD Corn Muffin last week , haven't had 1 in years, and tried 3 DD's to find one. Not too popular here which is weird I thought. Southerners love corn bread, me too. But DD corn muffin cold with butter and a hot cup of coffee makes the world feel just a little better.

Good video guys. The fort looks interesting and the donuts look delicious. Taylor you description of them makes you want to have some. I am curious to know whether you guys are planning to do the entire USA and even Canada or just the East Coast? Since you guys are young and no kids with a current global pandemic, I thing you should just keep traveling. Life is too short and fragile so make the most of it. We have four kids and its hard with the six of us to get around, not to mention the expense. Do it while you can.

Hey Dirk! We’re planning on hitting a good chunk of the US. Starting February we’re heading west to hit all of the major ski resorts in the country and then may make our way south into Baja California Mexico in March! If Canada opens up in February we’ll make a quick stop in jasper and banff if possible! I agree with keep traveling Taylors starting to get baby fever though so idk how long she’ll last haha

I also nearly had a heart attack when you guys went down the ramp for that ferry, so I completely understand Taylor's reaction, lol. Amazing scenic ride-along though. I'm a little surprised that you were able to cook up eggs on the first ferry -- here in BC, Canada, they would make you shut off the propane on a vehicle that had it. Not sure if that's typical or just here. Happy adventuring, can't wait for the next one..... Oh and really LOVED the Unimog -- Shared it with my brother-in-law, told him it would make him feel seriously "under-trucked".

Hey Adrian! Haha sorry for the food reviews, try editing the scenes, I get so hungry watching the clips 5-10 times each!!! Not sure about the propane restrictions on the ferry, there weren’t any rules/restrictions posted so we just ate breakfast but I’ll be on the lookout moving forward. We want to visit BC really bad heard it’s beautiful! Mike’s Unimog is really cool I’m jealous of it and his ability to take it anywhere!

Ferry trip was amazing! NOT FUN FACT: It would cost you well over $500 for a round trip ticket (with van) from Hyannis to Nantucket at the time of year that you took the ferry to Okracoke! I feel so silly but if you use iOverlander, I cannot understand it 🥴 how do you know what is BLM land?? The little icons are just tents and it doesn’t say if you have to pay for the site or not so I’m confused

If the campsite is a “wild” campsite you don’t have to pay. So every tent with a moon is definitely free and then any dark green tent could be paid or not. I usually use google maps and iOverlander to figure out a plan!
