Hi sir, I’m a prospective OCS candidate and I’m just wondering how hard is it to get an accelerated class slot?
@ColeAlanFF Жыл бұрын
Depends on your state. Another viewer just let me know he get a Federal spot (he's in the New York guard). I was unable to get a spot in KS. All based on your state and how many people they choose to send to the accelerated program
@br229153 жыл бұрын
I did federal. Our history was a smokefest. 25% fail the history test the first time. Everything sounds pretty similar though.

You mentioned you arrived Thursday, is that a standard start for an OCS weekend? Or will that vary month to month ? (Or state to state even)
@ColeAlanFF2 жыл бұрын
Most first formations were Friday night at 1800. Once or twice was Thursday night

Awesome video! A few questions during this phase 2 it’s 12 months you asked u current job to give u permission to attend this school during so many days and weeeks? This is for nation guard officer school right? And if you live on a different location they pay the relocation process during that time?
@ColeAlanFF2 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Work is required by law to let you attend. The 12 months is made up of weekend drills. So if you live out of state you will need to travel to the state to take part in drill, and you wont get paid for this. We had someone move to Seattle for work and he flew back to KS every month for drill weekend, on his own dime.

Is there a minimum enlistment time when enlisting as an O9S?
@ColeAlanFF3 жыл бұрын
You will sign a contract for 6-8 years. However, all through phase one and phase 2 of OCS up until the time you commission you can back out at any time. You and quit the army altogether or get a new MOS (needs of the Army). They put that in place for the people who decide they don’t like OCS or no longer want to be an officer.

Thanks a lot Man. I am about to go to Basic in April and I want to come back and go through State OCS in the Texas National Guard. I already have the bachelors degree and the Asvab score. I will follow you and keep an eye on for your videos every month keep them posted. Good Luck with everything? One quick question, Do you work a civilian job as well? I want to work in the private sector and then do the OCS on the weekend kind of thing. Just wanted to ask you if you could talk about that if you do.
@razgriz55523 жыл бұрын
Currently im about to leave for phase 1 of OCS for the texas national guard and I work fulltime as a civilian. Its fairly easy with having them required to let you go for your military training as long as you provide orders.
@Enigma009773 жыл бұрын
@@razgriz5552 keep me posted how it goes. I am fixing to drop in my packet once i get back from basic. Lets keep in touch. ✌. Good luck in your journey.
@razgriz55523 жыл бұрын
Good luck at Basic. Its easy and fun at times so make the best of it. When you get back make sure you become best friends with your readiness NCO and your training NCO, as well as your supply NCO. Keep hounding your readiness NCO about when the next OCS symposium is and what paperwork you will need such as security clearance and your letter of reccomendation, etc. ALSO, get your physical done as soon as you find out when when the symposium is. The physical is good for 2 years and has to be valid through graduation so be mindful of that. The admin side of things is a bitch so be ontop of it and make sure uve got everything you need qnd dont be afraid to hound your unit for help

Yes those will continue until you are in the field for Phase 3. Most of Phase 3 will be spent in a Bivouac site or a hasty patrol base.
