I used to visit Vancouver in the mid 90s for work, loved it and almost moved there. It was pristine, safe (except for Hastings area) and seemed loke such a livable city. I am totally shocked by this video. My niece has been living there for 3 years for work, and is coming back to Toronto. She says it's because of the constant rain, but I'm guessing the stuff in this video might have something to do with it.

I found developing nations more depressing than this. I saw some poverty in Mexico but they hide it pretty well from the tourists. But the worst I've ever seen is in the Philippines. There are so many slums and squatter areas in the Philippines that are full of kids. They are running on the side of busy roads, with traffic and pollution everywhere, rats and stay cats and dogs everywhere.. It just seems so depressing that there are little kids in there. That's not a place for kids. What kind of childhood is that? Then to make matters worse, knowing that they'll never get out of that poverty due to the corruption in those countries. Makes it even more sad.

The people on the left in the city, state and federal government tend to insist that forcing the mentally ill into facilities is infringing on their rights. I agree with you. We need to open them once again but we need to make sure we hire the best staff and pay them very well to care for the mentally ill. Abuses have occurred in many instances before but that can be prevented. Also, here in the States, the nursing homes for lower middle class and poor elderly are pretty abysmal. Just a handful of staff really care and really want to do geriatric care for a career. Only the wealthy old folks get great care. We need to have the best staff for our nursing homes too, in my humble opinion. Thank you for the work you did. Being a psych nurse is a calling. Take care.

Farmer's are looking for worker, we have to bring them in people , but these people rather do drugs than be a part of working people. I left home when I was 15, lived on the streets. I got work, saved my money got a room. Since then, had kids bought a home, I have grandchildren. The one woman I know been on the streets for 25 years... Half my extended family live in Vancouver (they are originally from Hong Kong). When I first visited 20 years ago, I thought life was good in Vancouver. I remembered a relatively clean city with stunning views of mountains, relatively convenience with easy access to all sorts of restaurants. The area around Chinatown may have looked a little rough even back then, but DEFINITELY nothing like this. I don't remember seeing a single drug "zombie" - I thought this phenomenon of mass homelessness and drug addition was the US, because Canada supposedly took care of its people better than its neighbour did. The last time I was in Vancouver was probably 10 years ago. I guess everything has changed beyond recognition since.

I live in a very small, dumpy little town in the midwest. The best part about it is that it has been peaceful, quiet, crime-free, inexpensive, and fairly stable economically ....... up until a few years ago. Now all of the sudden we have some homeless people, sketchy-looking drifters, meth heads, theft and break-ins happening all the time, schizophrenics yelling at the air. We've lost much of our small town charm. And covid wiped out a bunch of our businesses which never recovered. And rents, taxes, and utilities have shot way up really fast. So I often think about leaving all my friends and family and moving somewhere else. But every time I look at another place I might want live I find out that all of the same things are going on there also. So...... I guess I'll stay put and just be glad that I know people here and I can walk or bike pretty much anywhere I need to go. And can watch the rest of the world fall apart on youtube.

These politicians and media always lied to the whole world as a prosperity and free country. The reasons why these things rapidly happening and increasing just because of these corrupt leaders, they are busy to finance the war against Russia and proxies and promote terrorism and chaos in the middle East, our whole financial systems and money are just working for their greedy objectives and goals rather than to develop and educate people, invest in the well being of people and nations. Heavy taxes being imposed on people just to make fake claim for prosperity and quality life. USA and Canada have these same problems. Once they end to finance the proxies wars and end double game in Ukrain and middle East, everything will becomes normal, our children and people will experience prosperity and quality life and good care health system. Ruining other countries means ruining own nation and people in so much many ways.

This is where I live. As I walk amongst the destitution and waste I think . Why shouldn't these people live this way. Who is offering them any thing better. This is a dumping ground . A human landfill. Most are kind and helpful . Very artistic. I was talking to a cop that said in the last ten years it's become insane. I asked him doesn't he know that the people that tell you to get it off the street are the same people that are putting it on the street? He said he was very aware. Mother Hastings will always provide. I'm twenty years clean of drugs and I wouldn't live anywhere else.... Much love.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world. Their are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia.

Multiculturalism that was the 1st true dough, we still have tons of immigration the 2nd true dough. Let’s vote him out, like you say it’s not working. Lots of people still coming to Canada no housing, water restrictions, where we get water from? Time to wake up in parliament and get things right for a change,” get a real plan “ and stop reacting to all the crisis’s that you caused in the 1st place. Nice to start all this new housing all over but where I live we will be on water restrictions in about 3 weeks, and you guessed it more housing starts all over town, yay another new crisis. I’m on city water and I have rain barrels collecting rain for a few years now, everything about this country has become ridiculous. There’s so many rules and laws about what you cannot do there I used to joke and say too many laws and not enough people. Now, there’ s still too many laws but too many people.

@@dintong drug abuse was a crime for ages, this legal drugs thing is new it started on Jan 01st of this year as a three year test program, Because of record high Deaths from the street drug fentanyl that Canada had never seen before so they wanted to try treating them like sick patients not criminals, Anyway they also wanted to see if with the police no longer bothering them, arresting etc they hoped this would reduce the stigma and encourage them to choose rehab of their own choosing, but this is back firing big time, creating lawless neighborhoods aka (open air drug markets) Canadas law makers did not take into consideration just how incredibly addictive fentanyl is. So now when a street addict overdoses on fentanyl and if the paramedics get to the person in time with the antidote most of the time they are saved from death, but instead of being grateful, the addict becomes angry and refuses any further help and is completely oblivious that they almost died, when they really should be placed in a mental hospital but undercurrent laws they are forced to simply let the person go and more than likely they will get more drugs and repeat the process over and over again, this three year program is becoming a huge problem in canada and need to end, the sooner the better...

When I watched videos like this, I used to think this situation was unique to a specific place. However, the other day, when I asked a friend who lives in Vancouver about it, they said, 'This is a common sight, nothing unusual.

I've never been disappointed this much about migrating to Canada. This place had been a dreamland of mine since then, but not now. How would I ever live in Canada thinking that I would be adding to the depravity of those who are true citizens of this country. Goodbye, my childhood dreamland!

Скоро и ты привыкнешь. Осталось не долго. Белгородчане тоже сначала кричали О... ужас это невозможно так жить в государственных убежищах, а потом привыкли и довольны тем, что им еще и похлебку бесплатно дают.

I visit Vancouver for a week every other year. This scene is not a suprise. Every trip , the social issues creep a little closer to the downtown core. If we have record amounts of people using food banks , we also must mbe having record homelessness. The addictions are just the side effects.
