I've been up close to Merapi, it's frightening. While I was there a German guy hiked up it. He never came down.

If you ever think you’ve been to a place that no person has been before you’re probably wrong. A German was there first. I have hiked to countless remote points around the world always to find that a German had already been there! Lol
