So great, thanks for this! But pleeez - we wait for a new Octa and stuff like that. Almost 10 years old and still state of the art performance sampler. We dont wait for gadget ‚models‘.. the concepts of that era back then were so great, dont give it up and do what all others do. You know bout that, sure, but pleaz tell elektron. Yes, I own one after I had the mkI for quite a while. It‘s my central unit for gigs at the moment sequencing also some external monosynths and putting fx on them as they dont have some on their own. The mkII feels even more solid and the lighted buttons are a great help in dark environments. However Im sure Elektron would be able to develop some more great ideas. Personally I‘d be really happy bout some revised fx algorithms (especially modfx and a rev like in the newer machines) and a bit more fx power as well. E.g. an additional eq for each channel and the possibility to use dly and rev on top without loosing a whole track with a neighbour machine if doing so. Two or even four more tracks would also be nice but really important for me would be the possibility to internally bounce the tracks while playing - dreammachine 😋 And Ive read similar things in different places. But as I said I already love the machine the way it is built it offers so much. I just wrote it cause I somewhere found an interview with one of the designers of that machine or era who wasnt with Elektron anymore at that time (maybe he is back again I dont know - he said maybe he‘ll be back if I remember right) and he sounded like there was a change of product policy. I can understand that - those machines are complex to understand with their multi functionality and users first have to develop a scenario what they wanna do with them, how they wanna use them if they wanna dive in deeper. This is indeed the first decision you have to make as part of your compositions if you wanna get the most out of it and not everybody is used to that kind of thinking. However I loved it and felt like that is what makes the Elektron machines I own so special. I started with the MD and fell instantly in love..

Never - not possible. Traq is a great app and I talked to the guy who programmed it. Great dude! But forget about the ipad if you wanna do stuff like that. I really tried it for a while with all kind of app combinations. When I compare the sound to my elektron gear - its horrible 😂🙈 it doesnt live, the ipad is a gadget and sounds dead in comparison. I mean, its great for the money you pay for it but no phatness and no soul at all. On top dropouts and stuff like that. My Elektron gear (md, mm, ot, a4) sounds on a totally different level and the workflow is also like another galaxy. Its inspiring and works WITH you! Its like gadgets against serious stuff to do art. Im sorry that I have to say it like that but its the truth. Therefore in my opinion its horrible that the new elektron ‚models’ gear gets closer and closer to that ipad thing. Not regarding the sound which is still far beyond the ipad but regarding the design and possibilities. I dont touch the ipad anymore when I make music although I first thought its a great thing. One thing i can tell you is that I have officially finished my setup, not gonna buy a single other thing and it is the single best feeling in the world for me. I used to read so many reviews, watch countless videos, tutorials and bought and sold so many items that I've forgotten how many. But i finally wrote down a soundscape that i wanted to play in and kept only what i needed and closed the lid on that can of worms. Super happy, just had to tell someone lol
