I love Octane, it's easier to use and the node system is great but it crashes every 2 seconds (i have 2x RTX 3090s). So I am moving to Red Shift.

@@vungochung It's called SLI (at least the thing you want). You always need the best mainboard family of the generation. For example Z690 for Intel. They support SLI, which means the GPUs can be connected with an "SLI bridge" (comes in the package with the GPU). Than just connect both GPUs on the mainboard with that bridge and the Vram of both GPUs is shared between the GPUs- which results in 48gb of Vram. Note, that it does not work with other GPUs of the 3000 generation. Only the 3090 supports SLI. If you don't need the shared Vram, you could also simple add another GPU to your PC. Make sure your power supply is strong enough. Note, that adding a weaker second GPU is often slower than just using a very good one alone.

@@Gromic2k technically SLI doesn’t let you expand memory because the bandwidth cannot handle scaling the memory efficiently. Nvidia did however develop NVLink. Which does do what you said. Lastly, using multiple GPUS for biased renders does not need these link interfaces becaus of the decentralized distribution of sometimes large scenes “out of memory”. Redshift will cache larger scenes to ur hard drive instead of having to rely on VRAM. Doing these operations in VRAM is the ideal option so NVLink is welcome. But with the 3090s 24gb VRAM , I doubt u will ever exceed its memory. 😱😱😱

Octane is really easy to use and the lightning is beautiful, last versions for Cinema4D are pretty stable, at least for me. I love how fast Redshift has been growing and growing, time will tell if I swap to redshift or not. For now, I love Octane very much!

So according to this comment section and in my opinion redshift is better and also the video. It is fast It is reliable personally I think it is very easy to use. It's similar to the c4d interface. But whatever you chose they both are good Get redshift lol.

@@Gromic2k That's too bad, do you have pretty complex scenes? Lot's of textures? I have one project that's a city build with a ton of textures that sometimes crashes. I noticed that I can stop it from crashing if go into settings and turn off all the GPUs I'm using except for my main one and just run the IPR once then I turn all of them back on and I won't get anymore crashes during that session. But overall Octane has been really good on my end.
