Eden The Demon Electrode is basically the only Pokémon that has a chance in heck of outspeeding a mewtwo, and Paralysis can't be removed by rest if it hasn't been damaged. Explosion prevents mewtwo from acting the turn that it's used, and this buys precious time to start whaling in it with either hard hitting moves, or sending in a Rhydon to horn drill

spindash64 Even better, just use the rental Exeggutor and Onix for two more explosions, with something random in reserve to switch to afterwards so you don't get disqualified. He never gets up from that.

I know this comment is kind of old but what he's saying is that there were three Pokémon Stadium games made, the first one was only exclusive to Japan because it was kind of unfinished, then they developed another one which was the one released worldwide, then later they released Pokémon Stadium 2. So yeah there are actually three Pokémon Stadium games but we didn't get the original.

Mega Rayquaza may be the only Pokémon ever banned from Ubers, but I truly feel that Gen 1 Mewtwo is the strongest a Pokémon has ever been in the entire series. Capable of shrugging off even the strongest hits in the game and cutting through everything with Psychic or Blizzard. Mewtwo honestly turns the game into a joke. Hell, the only “reliable” way of beating Mewtwo in competitive play is to use Chansey and hope and pray you freeze it with Blizzard. If that doesn’t happen, he will destroy your team. Mewtwo truly is the ultimate Pokémon

Not to mention his Crazy versatility, something that he has to this day and the main reason why he's broken. Like, every gen he gets some Crazy New move or strat that shifts the entire meta, heck, he even got TWO of the strongest megas which are tied with MEGA RAYQUAZA in base stats. No he doesn't. However, what is BS is the fact he has such a high crit rate due to his high speed. Very frustrating, especially when you consider when you try to wall him with something like Amnesia or Light Screen and it just gets ignored because critical hits don't account for any changes.

Mewtwo in RBY was the most fearsome pokemon in ANY generation. 154 Special attack AND special defense, and Amnesia to boost that already high stat and access to Recover. That is why if you have Mewtwo in your team, you are almost guaranteed a victory. Mewtwo is still a force to reckon with, even with the new counters and the special split

I know! It's so weird! It's like he comes out of the Pokeball, throws it, goes back in, and pops back out! I was like "What was the point of that? Couldn't he have just flown in like in the menu?" As a side note, I always thought, in my opinion, Stadium should've been used as a "second chance" at Mewtwo. Like, Stadium reads your GBC cartridge, and if you have incomplete Mewtwo data (seen, but not caught), you should've been allowed to use your Pokeballs from the game, Colosseum-style.

Ah loved using electrode first . Thunder Wave really helps the fight depending on RNG and far as I’m aware, bar maybe Aerodactyl the only Pokémon that can outscored Mewtwo

Aerodactyl, Jolteon and Mewtwo are all the same speed when maxed out, so turn order is essentially RNG. Only Electrode is definitively faster in Gen 1.

Personally, I would have went with Light Screen, Thunder Wave then Thunderbolt/Explosion, depending on how much health Electrode has. That's just me though...

Screech is a preferable move, because if you're fortunate enough to fully paralyse on the first turn or your opponent misses. You can then Screech to greatly lower the defence and get a much more deadly explosion.

I remember staying up really late when I was younger trying to beat Mewtwo with rentals. It was such a hard thing for me at the time since I didn't know the ins and outs of Pokemon at the time. I will never forget that day where I saw him go down

I actually beat him with the rental Pokémon. I don't fully remember my team but I believe I had Lapras, Venusaur, and a mon with thunder wave to paralyze him (Electabuzz or Dragonite, can't remember which), as well as a couple mon who had rest that could heal. I had to rely heavily on luck that Mewtwo would either be frozen solid from Lapras' ice beam, be leech seeded by Venusaur to help restore some of my mon's health, and the thunder wave paralysis so he can miss or be unable to attack.

uhh, i love metwos, too bad it isnt as strong as it used to be. They should have made this battle against mew, as u can catch mewtwo in r/b/y anyway. Physics were also extremly powerful in the first gen games, i used to catch a abra at cerulan evey time and then destroy pokemon with its psybeam when it evolved to a kadabra. Even confsion was imensily powerful in that game, it had about 70 power and induced confusion a lot.

Mewtwo is fucking strong as hell,and instead of using Gengar,or the bug types that are bug and poison,you would have to have pokemon that knew ghost or bug type moves,and you have to have status effects like thunder wave,toxic,and confuse ray,but i rather use the thunder wave and confuse ray combo.this makes mewtwo have a bigger chance of not moving,but sometimes a small chance of him hitting himself.
