From the information given this fella is using 5 pound test line. I would think 8 lb. test would be OK with this light lure. It seems he's tied directly to the lure, no snap.

Yes 5 lb test. I've read where some are using fairly heavy main line and a light leader. This video shows us that throwing this lure on just a single mainline is fine. And yes. 8 lb. test would be the maximum size I would use too. We need to get them out and try them. :D
