I've lost like 3 pairs of glasses so far during the war and I'm long sighted so all I lost was my ability to read and having to fish my spare pair out my pack a little while later

Big mistake there bud, seen another video of a Ukrainian sof, clear a trench and none of the Russians had their rifles in their hands, so it was super easy for the Ukrainian soldier to eliminate them all without getting shot at. I’m not even in the military but I know for a fact to never leave your rifle, even taking a dump have your rifle in your hands.

We aren't SOF and most units claiming to be out here aren't. I used to be in a "Direct action" team before transferring to a regular infantry unit

IDK the back story but to me it looks bad that I'm only five minutes into the vid and he forgets the radio and has to go back alone, then apparently forgets his rifle as if it's too heavy to carry 100 feet back to where he started, then his camera falls off from bumping it, then he wastes time messing with it during a firefight, apparently with no other purpose in mind than filming himself. We see he doesn't even have his helmet strapped, then he takes it off and about dies of terror when an incoming round explodes nearby, but doesn't decide putting his helmet back on would be a good idea. I don't get any of it. What am I missing?

But my man take some time to train yourself, ask some of the more sharp guys in your unit to take some time with you, take this time and sharpen up. Like you said complacency kills. Familiarize yourself w dif weapons. Go to your gun range and have a range master teach you to shoot and handle a firearm. Don't ever neglect safety. It's not a toy! Even training yourself to move and communicate as a team on a small scale in airsoft or paintball is at least some basic war training. Keep one of your guns dirty for a little while and practice remedial and immediate action drills, but keep another one in prestine condition for your EDC. OR JUST JOIN THE MILITARY lol

@@charlesdelta615 Makes sense. I've been doing a lot of Reaction to contact and mostly partisan oriented training because of the lack of supply line in an emergency. I do need to work on marksmanship a lot more seeing as I've been reaching out and am networking with a lot more likeminded civilians in my area. Most of what we have done is just movement under fire using blanks to mitigate safety risks. Thanks for the advice!

@@charlesdelta615there is a reason that training in the military is called BASIC TRAINING, it is not and never will be “be all, end all” many soldiers do not know how to properly use rifles and handguns, they only teach you how to have discipline with it. Familiarizing yourself with your main platform is of most importance. Being perfect in all weapon types is a surefire way to guarantee you aren’t proficient in any of them. Reaction to contact is just meh, you need to learn the basics first. IMT is a good way to get it. If you can’t roll with a buddy in rush, then you are meat for the plants. IMT done properly should have you cramping and puking after an hour of it

No one really uses ear pro in these situations. In stationary defensive fighting positions you can’t see all sectors of fire at the same time, you are reliant on other guys to cover their sectors, and in the back of your mind you are terrified of the possibilities that you could be breeched and overrun. Imagine limiting your hearing while other humans are trying to sneak up on you and kill you.
