I personally use a bullet journal as a time capsule, for memory keeping, habit tracking, cutrently playlists and reading/media logging, random diary entries and gratitude. I've moved out of my bullet journal for the sake of planning two years ago and can say that the joy of journaling rekindled after that separation. I used to despise the idea of having to migrate to a new journal halfway through the year, and decorating weeklies in the same theme for an entire month made me not care about it anymore. I love bullet journaling but it wasn't my thing when it came to planning tasks, and this is the beauty of bullet journaling, you can cater it to how it suits you. For planning, I use a fauxbonichi weeks that I can decorate how I want depending on my weekly mood.

Thank you so much for sharing! It sounds like a great system! I would like to have more space in my planner as well, for diary entries and everything you just mentioned. But with the bullet journal, I don't have time and energy to create space for that since I feel pressured to continue the same monthly theme 😅 Especially since I share everything in my bullet journal. I think I'll go with the Hobonichi Cousin exactly for that purpose but will definitely keep the idea open of having a separate lower effort/long term bullet journal on the side 😊

Gorgeous layout as always! I think of you as an artist more than a bullet journaller, Anna ^^ I like the bullet journal videos because they create a unified theme over several pieces of art at varying complexities, in a way a single painting wouldn’t, but there’s plenty of ways to accomplish that, like your reading journal, an art journal, decorating a pre-made planner, etc. We’re about to go into the second half of the decade - seems like a perfect time to make a change.

Every so often, I get burned out with the bujo set up and all that, and use a pre-printed planner for a while. The break helps to recharge my creativity, and revive my interest in the whole bujo process. Good luck sorting out your decision. I’ll be watching whatever you create. PS- it would be really neat to watch you discover oil paints! I’m much too intimidated to try them myself.

I'd love to see oil painting videos - especially with tips for beginners like me. I also like the idea of watching you decorate a pre-made planner. That's what I use and love prettying it up with markers, stickers and washi tape.

I know how you feel. I don't make content but I have been doing the artsy colourful bujo spreads with themes for 4 years now and for the past year I have been using the exact same layout every time. So I looked into a premade planner that offers that layout (Sterling Ink horizontal) and enough pages to combine my planner and my actual daily journal. I still have space to decorate on the grid pages every week and the undated daily pages in the back.

I totally feel you! I've noticed myself sticking to a similar theme though in the beginning what I loved the most was to explore different page ideas, journaling prompts etc... I've been looking into the Hobonichi Cousin for the exact same reasons! The Sterling Ink calendars are gorgeous, but as someone who lives in Japan, having the Japanese holidays and daily quotes to practice Japanese would be super helpful for me in the Hobonichi 😄

I’ve been uninspired to use my bullet journal ALL year because I want more from it than a to do list and haven’t quite figured out how to get what I need. Some kind of life-journal where I have more room than now to journal or just record any daily memories etc. If I'd do that in my bullet journal, it would be so much work to stick to a certain theme or keep a journal like that presentable 😅 I honestly don't know if creating notebooks is for me, just for the investments and inventory space alone it would require 😅 But I feel like there are amazing options out there, like the Hobonichi planners and Sterling Ink journals that offer even more freedom!

Like many others here, I don't actually bullet journal. I do have a reading journal though. I am mainly just here for your amazing art. I love your art ❤. I currently have Hobonichis and Sterling Common Planners. I use Hobonichi Weeks. But I like the Sterling Common Planner better than the Cousin because it is completely colour free, which means that I am free to do my own thing and not worry about mismatched colours.

Anna, You don't need to apologize for feeling the way you do about bullet journaling. I had the same realization 2 years ago when I started law school and just needed a ready made planner to jot everything down in and couldn't dedicate time to a bullet journal again, as much as I enjoyed it, it just wasn't serving me. Now, after a tough couple months I turned back to bullet journaling for solace and it has been a great comfort for me as creative therapy. I forgot how much I missed creating layouts. Except I can't imagine it being my job, and feeling obligated to do these fancy spreads and not being fulfilled with it. It should be as much for you as it is for us. You should focus on your art and share that progress here with us, I would love to see it! but I would also appreciate it so much if you kept adding products to your shop. It's my favorite for all things bullet journaling and I would be devastated to see that go. Also, would just love supporting you in that way as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings! most of your subscribers would love to support you in any way we can.

Your artwork is always so beautiful. 😍 You might consider switching to a planner that includes monthly overviews, weekly or daily pages, and also has enough blank pages for your creative artwork and reflections. Alternatively, you could create your own planner using ready-made monthly, weekly, or daily pages and insert as many blank pages as you need. The choice of binding, whether it's bound, coil, or disc bound, would be up to you. 😊

May I suggest you look in to using a disc bound or binder planner system. I like having the ability to use premade pages when I don’t have the time but when I’m feeling creative I can use dot grid paper and make my own setup. I find this works particularly well with undated planner systems. Also stickers work well in a lot of planners so you could design stickers for whatever setup you go with. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. ❤

October is my birth month and I am a Snake in the Chinese Zodiac 🐍 On the other topic, they always say do what you love and you won't work a day in your life, but what nobody says is that by doing that you will lose, eventually, what you love, because it will become your job. I used planners for over 20 years and now I am in my fifth year of bullet journaling (the real one, the system created by Ryder, so no crazy decorations or endless trackers) and could never go back to planners. But, as other subscribers have said in the comment, we came to your channel for the art, so wherever the 'surface' that you want to make it, we will like it 😉 Enjoy your art and your creativity!!! ❤

I love your art! I'm glad you'll be continuing to share your art journey. I love the Bujo Community and the pretty art and stationery. I do most of my planning on my phone. I use a calendar app (Google) and a notes app (Google Keep Notes). I also love beautiful imagery. I have a simple photo app (Simple Gallery Pro) [I do use Google Photos to back up my photos to the cloud. After all these years that I've been watching your videos, I would love to see sth different from you. Personally, I have quit drawing my journals and have been using stickers mostly from early on. I still admire your creative process but I would love to see you use a system closer to mine. This could also be a new opportunity for your online shop as well, as there are also others like me, who journal and don't particularly like heavy or complicate decorations in their notebooks but prefer using a quick and functional set up

Loved this setup. Perhaps you could start an art channel so you don’t have to worry about changing the content of this one. Those interested in art could join the second channel as well while those who love your current content can continue to do so. Good luck with the decision. Change is inevitable but that doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t challenging.

Just like a lot of other people here I don’t bullet-journal either and just watch your creativity and you know I also love your kind of scrap style. Of course I adore your painting but if you like to do that in a different way I would still enjoy it. Please follow your own feelings and don’t let it become a job to you. That takes all the fun out of it. As a crafter of cards I do know exactly what you mean, I stopped making cards at the moment I got orders in from shops that want hundreds of cards.

I'm here for the art :) I would happily still subscribe to your channel if you did away with the bullet journal component, though as someone who bullet journals I did enjoy having your setups to look forward to each month. There are millions of bullet journal girlies out there to follow, you do not have to be one of them if it's not working for you anymore! Also, I know you said you are thinking of going to a pre-printed planner, but if you still enjoy some of the flexibility of bullet journaling, remember that it is not the art or the notebook that makes it a productivity tool--you can go back to a more traditional bullet journal setup with just a pen and your year/weeks/days. I came here as a result of searching "bullet journal", but it's not for this reason why I am staying here. Your bullet journal is already very different from mine, and from the "standard" original bullet journal method. You have already justly personalised it. I am not here to copy you. Also because I am not as good as you are. I like to watch you create, I like your artwork, and I like to take inspiration from you for my own decorations. If you abandon bullet journaling for something else, it won't make any difference for me. And you've made enough bullet journal videos to allow anyone to grasp the general idea, the rest is just art. So my advice is - just go on how you feel better. Don't waste time with a method you don't feel useful to you, adopt what you think is better in your case.
