Hi Stef! Hopefully you are doing great! I was surprised that there were no Parker 51 in the current haul 😁

Ha ha, yes not in this lot but keep watching. Cheers

Vintage pens with damaged or missing caps are very much under appreciated IMV. If you drive a vintage Rolls Royce or Ferrari you're not too concerned with what your garage looks like! Same with pens - it's still a great Swan pen that deserves to be used even if it has a damaged cap! 🏎👍😊

@@andrewchallinor-s6d Since a broken cap affects the function of the pen (the ink dries out), think of it more like buying a Ferrari with a broken fuel cap, or with a missing headlight :-)
@andrewchallinor-s6d2 ай бұрын
@@georgeparapadakis Not to me! The cap is merely the pen garage. 👍
@penkino12 ай бұрын
@andrewchallinor-s6d Yes it is a shame about this cap, however i can service the pen so it is in full working order. Anybody interested ? Thanks.

@@penkino1 while it wouldn’t take care of the lip chunk missing, you can reweld the split celluloid seams with MEK and some hose clamps padded with rubber to keep the seam closed while curing.

5:38 - this is a PFM III which is supposed to have a 14K inlaid nib. However, recently I have noticed a lot of PFM IIIs with a gold cap band but with PdAg nibs. All Australian. Not sure what’s going on there…
@penkino12 ай бұрын
Hi George, or it could just be the wrong cap. Maybe it needs the PFM I or II caps ? One in black with stainless steel clip and band or brushed stainless steel cap, clip and band. Cheers

@@penkino1 That was My initial thought too. But I’ve seen too many of these around in the last few months, for it to be a random coincidence. I wonder if the III was offered at the time, with a choice of nibs.

I have one just like it with a BB nib.

@@georgeparapadakis when sheaffer austrailia closed down there was tons and tons of left over PFM Parts. They were bought up by a couple Australian Pen dealers and the parts were assembled into pens.. Infact most replacement PFM parts are still coming out of Australia and Thailand versus anywhere else

Nice bunch of pens there, Stef! Particularly good haul of Sheaffers. Can't wait for the next part. Btw, I was unable to make out what model that Waterman was. Could anyone read it?
@andrewchallinor-s6d2 ай бұрын
It looks like a Waterman's W3 (1950s) with a company name engraved on the barrel.

@andrewchallinor-s6d Thanks Andrew. I've taken a bit of a shine to the English Watermans.

@@archivist17 Yes. W3, W5 and the 515 are particularly good!👍
@penkino12 ай бұрын
@archivist17 Thanks, im glad you like them, keep watching. If you mean the box set then it is a Watermans W3 as @andrewchallinor-s6d mentioned.

@@penkino1 Cool! My partner has a W3, and I have a W2.
