Hello Lisa, I live in that area and currently volunteer with an organization that is providing aid to people who are unable to get supplies. You are correct the community is coming together. There is more going on I don’t care to get into. That said, people are much more compassionate than not. I am able to write this comment only because I am in Durham NC regrouping, recentering and getting more supplies before returning to the mountains. This experience has been truly humbling. FEMA is up and running without any hitches - but communications are difficult. The federal government is there and the information regarding the devastation is wide spread.
