READ THE BOOKS!!!.... and yes that is plural.... there are 3 in the Discovery of Witches series... and they are making the others into series as well.... so worth the time. They are not short quick reads, but are amazingly full of depth and detail that sucks you in so that you will have a hard time putting them down.

I got into Discovery of Witches via the show and I couldn't wait to see what happened so I got the ebook. I think the show is even better when you read the book. There are so many tiny details that the show acknowledges, but reading the book added to it!

The discovery of witches trilogy is amazing! I’ve re-read them at least 3 times since they’ve been out. There are some differences in the book but you’ll know the main plot from the show. You should still read them though! Highly highly recommend.

I’m obsessed with the Hourglass Unlocked palette. The bronzer is the best. I love using the bronzer in the crease and the peachy shade on the lid, then run them along the lower lash. Stunning! I’m glad the Lala whipped moisturiser doesn’t have spf because I think it’s a great night cream. It’s better to wear a separate spf in the morning.

Absolutely read the All Souls Trilogy....the books are wonderful. I was able to see the first episode at a convention with the author, but we won’t get the television show until January here in the states. Can’t wait and glad you are a fan!

Last month, I went travelling around India for 3 weeks and forgot my entire makeup bag 🙈 As a makeup lover, I freaked out when I landed in Delhi but remembered I had packed my Hourglass Ambient lighting palette in another bag. Literally, just used that one pallet as highlight, bronzer, contour and eyeshadow for the entire trip and loved it!! Lifesaver & totally worth the price 💕 💕

Hi Fleur, yes I would recommend reading the book! I read it in about 3 days (it’s quite long!) and then re-watched the series and it helped make more sense of a few bits. I’ve recorded the finale to watch tonight and am about to get started on the second book. It’s been great for me as I love escaping into a fantasy world, I’m not a huge fan of real-life TV/books as I prefer something supernatural like you 😊

Read the books! Deborah is also an historian and her academic expertise and knowledge of Oxford comes through in her fiction writing. She really is a great author, so it's definitely worth reading the books to compliment the tv series. 😊

Definitely read the book(s) of Discovery of WItches - I stopped watching the series after 2 episodes then read the books and they just add loads of detail but the tv show definitely won't spoil reading the books!

Louisa Davis I did the same, watching the rest of the series once I’d read the book helped it to make so much more sense - like the whole Knights of Lazurus bit which is only covered in about 2 seconds on the show!

100% read the books! The tv series is a really good adaptation but the book gives you way more context and little details that enhance the tv series.

Can’t speak to the TV adaptation yet because I live in the US, however definitely read the books! The 2nd and 3rd in the series are even better! And I’m sure there are things that are missing from the adaptation. I can’t wait to see it in January!

I am halfway through book #2 and I can definitely say at this point you should read the books as well. I've only been unable to download up to episode 6 sadly and haven't been able to find ep 7 online yet (sad face), it's not going to be available in north America until next year sometime and it will kill me if I have to wait that long to see the last two episodes of the first season....frustration...lol

I personally have watched all of game of thrones seasons on HBO, and recently began reading the books. I definitely recommend reading the books if you’ve started watching the show, as they give you insight and more detail into the events that occur in the show, and you end up reading about things that the show didn’t include. Obviously if the show is true to the source material you look at things differently than you would have if you had read the books before watching the show, but it is still definitely worth it!

Those Ambient Edit palettes always look so much bigger in videos than IRL and seeing you hold it up is pretty much the first time I’ve ever seen it look as small as it really is. I think it’s because you put your hand over the mirror when you hold it up so it’s really obvious how it compares. So good job, I guess 🤷‍♀️😂

I started watching a Discovery of Witches & decided to download the series on my kindle. Read the first book but found it was spoiling the TV show for me as I’m watching it with hubby, so have put the next two books on ice & will read them later. Not supernatural but I love love love This Is Us, just finished series 2. It’s an amazing show, has me in tears pretty much every episode. Can’t wait for series 3 which is currently showing in the US but not over our side of the pond yet. Have also signed up to beauty pie, might have to get myself a candle next month! X

Yes go read the book but wait till the series is almost done. I find I can read a book after seeing a movie or tv version but if i read the book first the show always disappoints me. Also there are 2 more book to read first and things left out of the book in the show. It’s worth the read.

I've heard that there's plenty of stuff that was left out from the book that is not in the TV series so I think you definitely should read the book :) I'm actually planning to do so myself, because I will have to fill in the time gap before another season comes out :) And I know for sure, that there will be at least two another seasons, because there are 2 another books in the series :) I can't wait to see how the story evolves :) Besides that, really nice video, Fleur :) I find this type of videos a neverending source of inspiration, so my wishlist is a bit longer again :D
