I think Middlemarch is a pleasure but it's a time commitment for sure! The Thirteenth Tale is good, too. Happy Reading; you have plenty to explore!

This is the problem! No one tells me I should not read any of the books 🤣 Always every book is great, all these lovely books I absolutely must get to right way. Too many books too little time.

Oh my goodness, you have to read The Thirteenth Tale! That is in my top 5 (maybe top 3) books of all time! It's fantastic--if you are into the Brontës, it is very Brontëan, but not in a way that you have to love the Brontës. It's got that dark and twisty gothic vibe!

The peer pressure is real!!! 😂 Thirteenth Tale is one of the most definite on the list, it is going to fit into the first vlog project I've dug into starting already, so I should be coming to it sooooon 🤐

I love Middlemarch but it did take me about 3 attempts until it clicked for me, Elliot requires more concentration than I usually have, but oh so rewarding when I do. The miniseries adaptation is really good too. I've not read The Thirteenth Tale, or any Setterfield.

Uh oh, that doesn't bode well for Middlemarch making the docket this month, concentration has been in short supply. Hopefully that will improve by the end of the month and work out for the plan... Ahhh, you would probably like Setterfield, she's brilliant at slightly eerie, atmospheric yet also charming historical from the other two books I've read.

Funny analogy with your tip of the iceberg. Very apt. I love Geraldine Brooks. I hadn’t heard of that one. I guess I need to look into her nonfiction more. I don’t love Middlemarch, lol. I’ve decided George Eliot is not for me although I did really like Daniel Deronda.

I have SO many piles of books everywhere right now for different things I want to fit in over the next couple weeks, iceberg seemed only appropriate. Brooks, I believe, only has one other non-fiction published as a book, but that one sounds as much or even more interesting because it's about her tracking down her childhood penpals. She is such a unique person.

I really loved Sunshine by Robin McKinley when I read it! I think I read it around the time I tried to read the Twilight series (2007ish) and just thought Sunshine was such a better vampire story 😂

McKinley is one of those cult hit authors, I feel like everyone thinks if a "superior" version in the things she does, but somehow never got wildly popular. Good to have another endorsement of this one, I hope I can get to it, the Vampires + baking definitely has me intrigued.

You're not the last to read The Thirteenth Tale cause I haven't read it either but I hope you love it and the other 5 star predictions!

Hehe then you will be the last! I am about to start it soon, so hopefully it will indeed go well, she is such a fantastic atmospheric writer.
