For question six you can set up two equations 5r+10b=200 and b=2r set r=x and b=y into desmos and find the intersection of 8,16 use the y value and but it into 10b b=16 hence 10x16=160. Hence she ran 160 miles on the bike. Thanks your method still makes sense but this one can also be quick if you are running out of time.

Hello, the rate is 10 miles/hour for biking. Therefore, after we determined that the "y" value is 16, this # does not represent the total # of biking hours. It represents the # of hours spent. Therefore, to calculate the total, we would multiply # hours spent by the rate (10 miles/hour) to find total mileage.

Question 5….plug in 1 for x and the equation simplifies to y = a + b + c. Because the vertex is a minimum, any input value other than 9 would have to produce a y value greater than -14. So a + b + c must be greater than -14, and -12 is the only value that satisfies this.

Hey! It has to be positive because the parabola of the equation opens UPWARDS. How do you know that the parabola opens upwards? The vertex is stated to be in Quadrant 4. It is also given that it intersects the x-axis at 2 points. This means to satisfy these criteria, it has to open upwards!

I don't believe it would work for the the approach I did in the video. You cannot factor out the "a" since "a" is not present in all the terms. The "c" value is encompassed by 81a - 14.
