Y'all's composition of the harmonies are so perfect. So many people think that you can pick a note a third away and just parallel the melody, but that ends up with wonky thirds that don't always fit the song. Y'all avoided every instance of that and the harmonies were beautiful.

Sometimes I wonder if I am able to discern good music from bad. Most popular music today I have no interest in at all. As a matter of fact, I can't stand it. But it's the most popular, hence my doubt. This video will maybe see 10,000 views in the next couple of weeks. I don't understand it. This is better than probably anything in the top 10 right now in my humble opinion. The voices are perfection, the music fits perfectly, and the arrangement is , as usual, excellent. Thank you Ryan for continuing to do stories. These gems are worth all your hard work.

Don’t worry, nothing’s wrong with your musical judgement. Most popular music is popular for the very reason that it’s easily digested by the masses (and because record labels push certain music with money). Your taste is just more nuanced than standard 2:50 4 on the floor, ABABCBB, 4 chord songs. (If you wonder, it’s a standard recipe for a pop track).

The vocal runs are the only thing that make the songs.. Plus her live renditions often contain runs in other places of the song, or other creative differences that are really neat, imo!
