I love this track, having heeded the spoiler warning i got to the end game boss to witness the boss music track for the first time and it was surprising how different it was compared to the others yet it stands out as one of the best especially for end game music. I didnt last 10 minutes in the boss fight mind as i was under prepared but still enough time to enyoy the music and an ass kicking. I have heard this track on spotify and it does not dissapoint at all.

Holy poop, Adri. I don't think I've ever heard you use that operatic tone. It's hecking killer. Great job, you guys.
@10gamerguy6 жыл бұрын
Honestly this whole project of yours has really changed my opinion of this soundtrack. I went into this game and fanbase wondering why everyone was so impressed and floored by the OST. I thought it was competent, technically good JRPG soundtrack fodder that any game like it had. I LOVED the game but never the music, which blended into the background too often. But with this giant project by one of my favorite VGM cover artists ever, I've been forced to pay more attention to the sounds, and I've listened to all your remixes and because of them I've gone back to the original soundtrack. Now I feel like I have a much stronger appreciation for these tracks. They're so masterfully composed! They maintain a very fitting, ambient tone for every section of the game they're used in while still having a catchy melody that I can listen to out-of-game. So yeah, this unnecessarily long story is my winded way of saying thank you so much Jules and all the collaborators on this giant project for helping me realize one of the best video game soundtracks in recent memory! I'm going to have a lot of fun listening to both The Eightfold Road and the OT OST, fun I never would have known was even there without you.
@EchidnaKida6 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna be honest friend... I don't know how you didn't see it... and by that I mean hear it. This game has IMO the best OST of any 2018 game by leaps and bounds. There are some really good orchestral pieces in MHW, but not that many and plenty of stinkers too. Octopath has SO MUCH MUSIC and it feels like 95% of the tracks are all hits... to say nothing of the fact that something this great all came chiefly from one person: someone none of us had ever heard of before. It's amazing. Maybe you needed to turn down the voices and turn up the BGM in your playthrough.
@10gamerguy6 жыл бұрын
Shin_Rekkoha I guess it might just be the fact that a lot of the songs were very ambient and blended together? They work extremely well for that purpose now that I really pay attention, but even now I still prefer listening to remixes unless I’m actually playing the game. I also always liked the more uptempo battle themes and such, since those were catchy.
@masquera1d3025 жыл бұрын
@@10gamerguy Honestly, I didn't have a strong appreciation for this soundtrack until I learned about everything that actually went into composing it. "8 Bit Music Theory" and "Game Score Fanfare" both made really good videos talking about the soundtrack and how the composer Yasunori Nishiki approached making the soundtrack, and I just felt mesmerized learning about it, it really made me appreciate it so much more.

The 1st part she uses is the mash up Octopath lyrics found in "The one they call witch" which is: Vosagu gus comprehen i gwost i scela i gworinist vediginst agis perlos orbiti gworlini goh dogosigorous morte vostu tidi mos enmu i este verte de faminis defa eneste faminaut cordosis kades vis coreni ventus vis coreni vento vos coreni portoces which someone in reddit revise into a proper latin lyrics which is: vos tu vidis cor ferum (You see how fatal the heart) e vos tu se a deorunis (You are one of the uninjured) veni venis a cis perlos orbiti (I come from the side of the burning World) cor aperire vano se coris mortis (Open the heart and lift the skin of the dead) vos tu vidi vos fini~ (I have seen you at your end) es reverte deorunis (You return uninjured) e cor vidistis forti vanos (The heart sees how worthless the strong) oro cosis per portis ( I pray to obtain it through the gate) vis voreni ventus (The force of the wind pushed) vis voreni vontos (The force of the womb pushed) vos vorenos porte cis (I pushed this side of the gate) but her 2nd part... I dunno where she gets the lyrics from...
@e.antonygray74975 жыл бұрын
aren't the original lyrics in Italian? I don't speak the language, although I know Latin. The Latin in your lyrics here isn't quite right, so it makes me wonder. (i.e- "e cor vidistis forti vanos" lacks proper agreement in all parts. cor = nom.sing., vidistis = vidi, pf.pl.sec.act, forti =fortis (used as substantive adj.) dat/abl.sing vanos = vanus/a/um acc.pl.masc -- it would need to be something like "et cor vidit fortes vanos (and the heart saw the strong empty) - to justify a "how" it would have to have a 'quam' or something like that.The rhythm suggests something like "e (t)cor vidi (t)quam forte (s)vanos" ) Some may be missing the elided consonants, but in translation you should write 'e' as 'et' even if it elides into the next syllable.

So, I've been following Jules for a couple of years now, and when I saw he had created an album for Octopath Traveler, I bought it ASAP (this was a few months ago). I hadn't yet played the game or heard any of the original songs, and I didn't watch any of the videos he's been uploading from the album. I did a blind listen through the album, enjoying every minute of it... and then I got to this song, the last on the album, and it blew me away. Besides Adri's phenomal vocalizations, and Jules' overall epicness, one of the biggest compliments I can pay this track is that I can't tell that it's a medley. It flows perfectly and fits together so well, I can't tell where one original song ends and the next one starts. So, kudos for the arrangement.
