Hey there. A few videos ago, I asked if you can arrange Ophilia from Octopath on the piano. You responded and tbh I didn't think you were going to actually arrange it. After seeing this video for the first time, I felt like so happy and relieved that you covered this. I want to thank you for arranging this! So nice to see a youtuber do what their audience wants.

Awesome arrangement brotha! You definitely captured all the color of the original. Also love how classically japanese this song is haha. The ii-V before the bVI, the classic sus4 turnaround, all the little things. Nostalgia at it's finest!

You are really a god in arranging! =O May I ask you about your approach? Do you hear the piece in a slow manner and write down the notes first on a sheet or in a program, or do you proceed differently? =) You do not have to answer the question. I do not want to be forceful. But I would be very interested. =)
@MoisesNieto6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I don't think I'm super good at arranging but I'm becoming better as time goes by hehe, Yeah I just listen to the whole piece many times and write the notes in a program, one by one~ If the original piece is not a piano solo one, I try to imagine different accompaniment patterns for every part to make it sound as close as possible c: Then I print the sheet music I wrote and learn it, I normally change a few minor parts and notes here and there while I'm learning it
@ARZiehm6 жыл бұрын
To add on to what he said, there's two things that will really help in arranging music, and that's establishing the tonality (Major or minor) and hearing the root motion. Sometimes they'll throw in chords that are non diatonic (At 1:30, there's a Db chord that is not native to G minor) but for the most part it'll make the list of possible chords to choose from a lot smaller. Hearing the root motion can tell you what the chord is before you sit down - If you know what V-I sounds like, all you have to do is figure out the root and the chords will be all easy to figure out. Pay attention to what the bass note is and that will give you a lot of insight into how the piece works. In general, listen to a lot of music and transcribe a few of your favorites. You'll find many composers share chord progressions (At 1:12, that's a classic VI-VII-i, Eb, F, Gm) and tricks (Like the ii-V-I at 1:24, which is fm7, then Bb7 back to Eb.) The more you figure out structure, the easier it all becomes. Hope that helps some dude!

Oh god, =O Thank you both so much for your tips !!! = O I'm so thankful !!! =) I will apply these tips immediately. =O =) Just great! Thank you!!!! =)

Hey it's beautiful as always! You play the piano as I never could play in my entire life ^^ I just have a little question: I know you do covers of video game's music but will you play one day a piece from some persons like Beethoven or other? (it's just a question and if you say no I will continue to listen your wonderful covers
@bmba6 жыл бұрын
CallistoEverDream you could definitely learn this lol, this is such a simple arrangement it’s ridiculous. Considering there are people who are blind, deaf, and without hands who can play piano, I’d say just practise and you can be successful at it. This would only take maybe a year or two of practise, like srs this is coming from someone who’s played for a decade and is doing ARCT level pieces. I know you were exaggerating, but if you dedicated your whole life to it you would be better than him easily.
@jesselyes8746 жыл бұрын
Bradley B yes I know and I was spoken about all his covers and not this only one ^^ But actually I have not time to practice a lot and I just can play a little during my hollydays ^^' Yes blind people or persons who can't hear (like Beethoven lol) for me they are genius and talented, and I'm not a genius and I'm not talented at piano, but I don't cry for that and I didn't want to post a comment just to say "I'm such a bad player ooh god what is my shitty life" I just wanted to ask if he would do some pieces from famous artists :P But thanks for your answer

Thank you! I've recorded some classical music in the past (I made a playlist with all of them) but those are never very popular so I don't normally record it, but I've been studying classical musical for many years, I might record more in the future hehe

I just want to let you know this since i know your music is great quality: you might wanna check your octopath uploads because i can hear the higher notes fuzzing out. KZbin isnt doing your covers justice by skimping on the audio quality
@MoisesNieto5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Part of the quality is lost while exporting the video, another part is lost after uploading it :c Besides, the piano is more or less tuned depending on the day and I'm not an expert at recording haha, I'm sorry if the quality is slightly worse in some videos ;_;

It's a hard skill to work and achieve ;w; I still first write my own arrangements by ear and then study / practise what I wrote, I'm not very good at improvising!
