Esmeralda's fight was hard, when she was in the red i already used up all my revitalizing jam and was about to die with no bp left, next turn esmeralda was about to attack so i used an energizing pomegrenate and got patience, then thousand spears to veteran soldier and that was it. Your video helped me a lot, thanks

Thanks for the run. I tried to follow it and ended up with a 3 hour and 11 minute clear. But that's because I was watching your vid and doing it in segments. So if you subtract the watch time, it was pretty close. That last fight was so brutal. I had to redo it over a dozen times due to bad turn order and Patience procks. I got my achievements though. Thanks again. It was helpful. :)

Thank you for this guide, the only achievement i have left. i've pretty much let the game run and my PC on overnight for a couple of days to get the 100 hours but once that is out of the way I will attempt this.

Honestly, money issues aside, the Merchant job, particularly on Tressa, is extremely good, just because paired with Runelord, you can give the entire party SP, Sidestep, and ofc the Runes.

So that's how you use Warrior against her...I got bodied so hard in my run (not a speedrun, just me trying to beat solo, with no guides). I had to use Runelord for this fight (as well as Alphy's), and even still the Runelord battle felt easier than beating Esmeralda. She literally would just kill my Tressa in the first turn without giving me any chance to do anything (Red blade + anything would kill me, first turn).

nice job, went to see your channel after you commented on mine! What you did is something I wanted to give a try later this year (If I don't lose interest in the game, right now playing something else...). I've seen many speed run of the game but I don't recall having seen a lone speedrun before which is what I like just because it's new stuff people haven't figured out yet how to route it, so there is room to discover new things rather than just copy another speed runner. I watched quickly (skipped some part) and i've seen some interesting things about it. I would probably try some things different especially the grinding part in Tomb of Kings. I would only get Percipience support in Tomb of Kings and then try to move to the Forgotten Grotto to learn my other support skills. I haven't done it yet so I can't garantee it's better to do it this way but from my experience this is something I would definitly try. If you already gave it a thought, i'd like to hear from you about that.

Wow, thanks. Glad to see another lone traveler fan. If you want, I have Lone Traveler Speedruns for Ophi, Therion, Olberic, and Cyrus too on my channel, with full route notes in the description and in around 1h45m with Ophi being near 1h5m. Would love to hear your thoughts on them and the routes. And I agree Percipience is fantastic for grinding, but it requires spending 1630 jp for 4 scholar skills. (Evasive + Elem Aug + Percip), but we only use 130 for Evasive, so the 1500 extra jp sink is too much imo if you want to complete the 9k jp grind asap. Unless you mean get Percip and skip one of the other passives? (Like Patience or SG? Though my tests without them made Esme too inconsistent imo. How would you grind in Forgotten Grotto? I use ToK since it has the highest double Cait rate and can 1-2T almost all the battles. I haven't honestly tried grinding in FG since I didnt think she could reliably 1-2T the enemies. I might try later to see if she can, though I probably wont go back to rerouting this (routing solo Alfyn atm).

@@AnimeFanX11 cool! well the thing about Forgotten Grotto is just because it gives more JP on average so you might recoup the loss of getting Percipience. The only thing i'm not sure is time efficiency. I mean if it takes longer to kill stuff it may not be efficient, this is something I would have to try I guess, but from what I remember (a year ago) it was easy and safe to fight there with the Thunderstorm Amulet equipped. This however would need some change like getting Forbidden Bow instead of the Alluring Ribbon, which is quite expensive to get... Anyway i'll let you know if I'm able to make this works, but i'll try that later (not sure when).

Ah okay. I think it would be a bit of a detour to get Thunderstorm as well since Duskbarrow/Moldering Ruins is a bit far and requires Save + Quit, but it's definitely an interesting idea. And yeah, Forb Bow is unfortunate how expensive it is. I tested with it, and I wish it was cheaper and raised enccounter rate more than just alluring did.

@@AnimeFanX11 exactly, this is why solo run is such a fun things because a lot of stuff haven't been tried before so there room to try and test new things and do some theory crafting about the route and how you manage all your resources (money, items versus speed).

1:38:36 I should have Spear x4, not TS x4, but I wasn't punished for my mistake. 7->3 shields is guaranteed win after TS.

Well, I'm not sure what to do at 32:25, as I'm on the Xbox Series S. I saw your video on what to do with an XbOne, but it didn't work for me, after an hour of attempts. I might just be doing it wrong, but I'd there a good replacement for the Master Spear? I started watching this less intent on speedrunning and more just to do a solo run, but despite being a full hour behind your time, I've managed to stay fairly on point. The main difference being that I sold all of Tressa's starting equipment to buy the Wolf's Bow and Round Shield, and then the Black Attire after grinding in the cave. (Also, Rest. I am still level 10, just like you, but I picked Rest instead of sidestep like you suggested. Woop.) So yeah, should I just stick with the Rune Glaive, or is there a Phys spear that I can still get without the buffer glitch?

Sorry to hear you couldn't get it to work with an hour's worth of attempts. Fortunately, the Master Spear is never actually used - I sell it for about 17k and is in the video just as a source of money. Just grind the 17k or so some other way, and you should be fine. GL!

Pause as in press X to enter menu? I believe it uses In Game Time, so it would still be running, but Fleetfoot is 8 hours, so you should have enough time to take a break now and then. Alternatively, just save and exit the game to resume later.

But no, Master's Spear isn't necessary. I sell it for money IIRC. About 15k I think. All the damage on bosses is from HH Veterans.

Here's the copy paste explanation from GameFAQs: "The Home Buffer Glitch [on Nintendo Switch] allows the player to bypass trigger areas that usually make the player walk back. This is usually sign posts the character walks into and says "I shouldn't be here right now" and turns back or in dungeons when a boss prompt pops up: "The sense of danger is overwhelming. Are you sure you wish to proceed?" In the bottom case, hover over "Perhaps not." Then tap it and immediately tap the Switch's Home button. When you're in the Home screen, hold the analog stick in the direction toward the boss trigger and reenter the game (so if you were moving Up going into the question, hold Up when reentering the game). When you reenter the game while holding the direction, immediately tap the Home button again. Hold the direction again and reenter the game. It may take a few tries, but if done properly, the character will walk a few steps past the boss trigger zone, allowing the player to loot boss chests without fighting them. (If you're not getting it, you can even spam the Home Button going into the trigger to make it easier.) Similarly, this can be done at sign posts right as the player starts to walk back. The area beyond such zones is not usually loaded though, so it cannot be used to skip chapters. However, there is one dungeon, the Lorn Cathedral, that can be accessed in this manner as well as some NPCs that can be reached, like the guards in Noblecourt. This glitch can also be done on the PC version by messing with the graphics. (You can either reset your drivers with Windows Key+Ctrl+Shift+B or if in Fullscreen Mode, Alt-Tab. Either of these two methods produces a similar effect to hitting the Home Button on Switch and can also be made easier on PC with a key binding that activates all those keys for you at once. me in my game Tressa lone traveler I killed Omar only with poison it took me 13 minutes but it was relatively easy but now I'm level 43 and I still can't kill venom taiga So I will farm levels xd although to achieve the achievement in less than 8 hours I already have a poison farming strategy

Were you asking for advice? The game is on a step counter, so you do need to move efficiently to minimize encounters. Evasive Maneuvers on helps a lot of course, aside from when grinding with Alluring Ribbon.

Your so fast, sometimes I gotta backtrack to make sure I chose same item you did. Can't complain about speed since it is a "Speed run" after all. Concerning the Master Spear, since I'm xbox, can I still get it or do I just grind extra?

I appreciate the work, but some of this run is breaking the game FROM OUTSIDE the game which I feel is kinda shit. I understand there are categories of speed running that allow this and that this video is more of a resource, but declaring that and stating where and when these CHEATS take place would be helpful. Specifically things like the Master spear at 32:15 where you skip the barrier and must exit the game to do so is done and even oddly excused for some reason with the explanation that it's, "just like I'm pausing the game." I really wouldn't care but this seems pretty disingenuous and goes without any explanation as to how you've done it or as to why it's "merely a pause" which is a lie, pausing is not the same as cheating/glitching and you clearly understand this.

This is particularly bad when considering what has ACTUALLY happened. Basically abusing save states is what it is akin to but simply put if you used this technique throughout the entire game you wouldn't need evasive maneuvers at all as you can see you never get attacked throughout the entire level 50 dungeon. You pause glitching the game resets your encounter and is honestly the worst offense when considering the implications of what can be done abusing this CHEAT.

The buffer glitch is actually like pausing the game though. On Nintendo Switch for example, it's executed the same way by hitting the Home menu to go to your game selection screen and back again. When you're in a game like Zelda or Mario and you hit Home, that is essentially pausing the game since nothing is happening and none of the Link/Mario/enemies are moving. It's the same thing here.

With that being said I still stand by my statement, yes it is LIKE pausing in the sense that the game pauses when minimizing or returning to home screen, but simply put, it is a glitch that requires you leaving the game to preform and in many ways defines the speed run. And still if it were a basic in game pause it would not cause the buffering glitch.
