For Cyrus, I gave him the sp and hp recovery-per-turn skills from the dancer, but then gave him the Trader’s half sp skill, meaning that Cyrus’s 22cost spells now only cost 1

Do a mixture of all, gather every passive you can. Secondary jobs can be continually exchanged. Just gather the best suiting passives before you get into late game. The rest is secondary. Pun not intended.

I was thinking of giving each characters secondary jobs by following their personnality and story. For instance, Ophilia is a cleric and since cleric and templar lives in the same area, making her a priest/soldier kinda makes sense. Both are well verse religion-speaking and she needs to be stronger in order to deliver that flame. Tressa is a merchant. She is noble and dedicated not only in selling goods but helping others too. Since her first chapter made her use a sleeping herb to fool the pirates, and since pharmacist of today are also merchants, apothicairian job seems perfect for her. Now Alfyn wants to heal everyone. In his chapter we saw how being the best healer is important to him. So becoming a cleric makes sense. Now ... Primrose . Vengeance is her motto. For now she isn't strong enough for that. She needs to find and kill her prey... Why not make her a hunter. It would be the best second job since she is adamant about getting revenge. Plus a dancer latching wild beasts on her foes would look amazing im sure. Cyrus now. When talking to Primrose during her second chapter, he said he wished to learn how to dance. There you have it, become a dancer! Plus in Cyrus second chapter, when he comes across a satanist follower, seems like the dark magic interest him greatly. Dancer owns dark magic grows as we know. Now, it leaves only Oberic and Therion. The first would have the thief class (since Therion can't pick Thief class two times). I can't find a way to make this work story-wise but it still works combatwise. In duel, Olberic would benefit greatly from stealing HP while dealing massive damage. This would make him unbeatable. I guess you could say that being swift, nimble and being in a dishonorable job class such as Thief might help Olberic find and undersfand the motives of his lost friend for betraying their king. Twould give some nuance to Olberic. And Therion, being the only one who cannot aim every ennemies at the same time, finaly can do with the Scholar class. Plus giving Therion some education could help him find a nobler job and better chance in life than just continuing being a thief. Wow...i forgot Hann'it just now. Erm...it leaves the merchant class. Yeah! She needs to travel in order to find her master. Mercantile winds serves to travel right? ...ok that seems far fetched. But with all the beast she tame (and sleys), selling their fur and meat would be more profitable than just... Killing them with no other purpose than protecting the biodiversity.

For Tressa, make her a warrior and lean into a tank for the whole team. I also pumped my equipment into evasion heavily and she could never die. Paired with Vim and Vigor, you will live forever.

Once you get to endgame, EVERYONE needs the clerics Saving Grace skill, because healing past max HP is vital. All damage dealers need the Warrior's Surpassing Power and the Starseer's BP Eater. The advanced classes have key endgame passives that replace most of your earlier passives.

My team is Cyrus, Ophelia, haanit and therion, so I'll give dancer to Cyrus or Ophelia (for dark damage), apothecary to Ophelia (fullnhealer), warrior to hannit and merchant to therion. That way I have all 8 jobs in the team.

I'd recommend using saving grace over any of the resist death passives. Encore only works once per fight and is useless for long periods of time. Saving grace combined with an occasional boosted heal more will give you so much hp that death is a serious rarity. Just an idea, thanks for the video!

One tactic with Olberic I liked to use in my first playthrough was to draw aggro and status ailments with incite so his endure support skill would bolster his defenses while being poisoned/blinded or what have you. I like the apocethary job on him, but feel like the resist ailments part would hinder that strat. I like him as a thief first to get his speed up and draw aggro before stuff goes down. His high attack power would make good use of the thief skills for self sustain, and that support skill for doing hits with non-damaging skills would definitely help his dps role.

First let me say that this is a well made video. I just i a few thoughts. You make some good points about what classes each character should use but there’s one thing I have too say. There is no reason to not have a secondary class equipped at all times. They give extra weapons, a minimum of two free skills, and stat buffs. Meaning that you should, if able, have another class at all times even if you aren’t focusing on unlocking those skills. It’s also worth mentioning that every new skill you learn costs double or more than ever Skill in that class that you’ve learned prior, combine this with the fact that you can learn skills in any order and that every class has a few skills you won’t use in every situation so the only reason to get all of the skills is to unlock the final support skills and the divine skill which don’t really come in that handy until chapter 2 anyway. And by chapter two the JP starts flowing like water so that’s when it becomes easier to max out classes. But this is all a matter of opinion and based purely on how to power up your characters efficiently so take what I say with a grain of salt.

While every character does have their strengths, certain skills given by different classes can easily help any character fit into any role, for example The runelords stat swap ability could turn olberic into a decent battlemage or Cyrus into a flexible battlemaster. But Tressa with the runelords transfer rune is always unbeatable Then again...this is coming from someone who leveled up and gained all of the advanced jobs before I did chapter 2 of any character

Alfyn + Warrior = Tank I am still early game but I found this to tank everything. Able to boost physical defense, draw attention, heal, deal strong damage, and use three weapons. With some investment in better armor Alfyn will be able to survive even the worst of situations.

A huge thing I think you overlooked is that you can equip any passive a character has unlocked regardless of which secondary job they currently have equipped. Personally I would recommend investing a few of Olberic's JP in Dancer to give him "Eye for an Eye" because is synergizes well with his "Incite" skill and "Cover". There are more examples of this, but counter Olberic is my favorite.

It's actually more beneficial to pick up a secondary class as soon as possible and take only two skills for a total of 130 JP - you don't need to fully max out your primary class first. Having additional class coverage, especially early on, leads to easier clears, which leads to easier leveling, so long as you aren't dumping JP into multiple secondary classes.

Tressa's best as your alternative Scholar(Cyrus). You get every elemental magic covered but light and dark(which everyone uses cleric-dancer, so that's covered), her half sp skill gives her magic for days, and she gets three weapon types for physical break focused enemies.

This video made me laugh really hard. I came in wanting to know if the secendary jobs I picked for my characters was a good choice. I went with Alphy for my main healer and hes a cleric 2nd. I have Therion and made him a merchant. My third slot is to whoever Im powerleveling to do their 2nd chapter and than I have Cyrus who is also a dancer. Every turn after attacking he heals so hes never down and gains back SP! He is my heavy hitter with support dancer skills so he can help out on any mobs that dont have elemental weakness. So my first two character I'm glad I made good choices there :)

For Tressa I chose scholar. I have Ophilia as a healer + dancer so support wise my team is great but I needed someone with good SP to do elemental damage and Tressa seemed very fitting for this. I guess with Tressa it is really what works best considering the rest of your party members.

I'm new to the game and this video was very helpful, but I'd like other people's opinions if I've done ok with my current 4 favorite party members second jobs. Ophilia-merchant:able to donate sp to other party members when she isn't healing, mass wind attack supplements her mass light attack nicely, and latter the 1/2 sp cost will let me spam "heal more". Cyrus-Cleric:honestly I just like having lots of heals on my party, but all of the extra sp is nice and the ability to over heal him later will be nice if my tank goes down. Olberic-Apothacary:lots of extra health for my main tank seemed like an obvious back, plus some self sustain. Primrose-theif: Super fast and evasive, this class allows her to act first often and control how the entire turn will proceed by applying buffs to my party and de-buffing the enemy. Thoughts?

The nice thing is that your passive skills don't have to be paired with your active job. So you can have your cleric also double down on magic with scholar... And when you have points to spend change job just to learn skills in other jobs and change back. So +50 elemental, +sp per turn, +HP per turn, and one other skill to round out your play style. But you never need to actually use the other jobs in combat.

For random battles, you should always have a merchant to donate bp to your dancer to do the bewildering dance for a chance at that sweet 5x or 100x xp or jp bonus. I guess you have to boost the dance 3x (4 dances in a row) for the slim chance at the 100x bonus though. And if you want to double your xp and jp gains, finish Olberic and Ophelias 4th chapters to unlock sidequests to get 50%+ xp and jp accessories, and two of the super-secondary job shrines are located near their 4th chapter towns, which both have passive skills that give you a bonus 50% gain to xp and jp.

I always start in the order Ophelia, Cyrus, Tressa, Olberick, Primrose, Alfin, Therion, Hannit. And yes, the cleric and scholar benefits help to get the second jobs fast.

You get something wrong with Inspiration -- standard attacks recharge SP equal to 1% of the physical attack damage inflicted, rounded up. Yes, this sucks balls on Ophilia because her physical attack power will never amount to anything, but on others it might be viable, especially if you boost attack at any given opportunity. Probably best to have that as a slot filler until you unlock Second Wind, which recharges 5% SP, rounded up, at the end of every turn (does not work if the battle ends that turn). Also, Steal SP on Tressa is kind of redundant when she has Rest, which is not dependent on the enemy's remaining HP and costs nothing to use anyway. Boost that shit to max for 100 free SP.

Thief-Tressa selling point is not item steal. It's SP steal+Share which you could use to support your damage dealer (Cyrus early on and then H'aanit or Olberic later). BP Donate + Sp Steal + Share is godlike until the secret job is unlocked.

I like ophilia with the thief secondary. She mostly needs to focus on healing, but the debuffs are nice when you’re about to break. She also gets a large sp pool as a cleric, and she can share half of it with your scholar, or whomever needs to be the main nuke during the break phase. If she has nothing to do during a break phase she can steal sp. it also gives her two more weapon types....and I’ve noticed that the chapter two swords and daggers tend to have elemental augments that help with her light spells (though this could be the case with most weapon types...haven’t done my research yet)

Wow, I actually rolled through this exact build throughout the game until I got advanced jobs. It worked out insanely well. The reason Therion is good is because of his share SP along with SP steal and that evasion Is awesome that you could make him an off tank.

Very clean since, using only the 8 main jobs, Cleric + Dancer is the best party buffer, Thief + Hunter is the best enemy debuffer, then, using only the remaining choices, Warrior + Apothecary is the best physical attacker and Scholar + Merchant is the best magic attacker.

Why would you wait to add a second job? You lose nothing and it doesn't hinder you main jobs progress at all. That's some really bad advise. People should add second jobs right way since they can add more weapons and get two addition skills to use for combat.

I find it a waste to not fully max out each job class before moving onto the next, because their final skills learned are oh so sweet and I do not want to pass those up, and it makes it harder to get them down the road because you’ve used many job points that could have been used for that final skill. 5,000 jp is not that much, unless you’re constantly spending the points elsewhere, so it doesn’t take long at all to max out the class.

Also, if you don’t know what you’re doing as far as party formation goes, then you could waste a lot of time, effort, and JP on classes that really don’t mesh together and then have to start over because you didn’t know what works and what does not.

Konran this, you don't have to spend JP in the 2nd job but just having it equiped will give you access to two free skills, a stat boost and more weapons which also increases stats.

Also, investing in a second job early means you unlock more passive skills early, whereas saving up for your primary job's final two skills takes longer and limits what passives you have available. Especially since you should be buying skills from basically all the jobs anyway.

If I buy the game I think I got 3 idea of my good Old Ophilia that I liked in the beta: #1 Marchant (frist thing I would probably go for It seem like the best fit for her increed her DEF and RES by 3% the stats that are pretty solide on her. Also it increed her Magic Physical and HP (helping her deal quite a bit of damage whit her physical since she dosn't have the weakess physcial but it still a weakness that could be fix whit the bonus.) Bosting her Magic damage and increing her low HP! *NOTE:* Also it the job that give the most DEF/RES buff I think it synergie well whit her ability to heal over her MAX HP Seem perfect also the passif: Hang Tough and SP Saver look perfect for a healer... #2 (unpopular opinion) Warrior I would go warrior to get those thing: Endure, and Summon Strength (I fell those to passif could really help her out)... #3 SPOILER: Rune master for the late game it fit prefectlly whit he mix damage that focus maining of dealing burst of magic at the end of physical attaque. It would also give her pretty much all element too.

For Ophelia I actually made her EXTREMELY brutal Grey Mage (Healing and Damage going hand in hand) by giving her the Scholar secondary Postgame, and she can deal massive 999+ damage with a battle scarred staff and Robe of the white flame For Tressa she is a breaker in hindsight, I gave her the huntress secondary Job and have her keep the enemy in check while providing lots of support to the more damage orientated fighters (namely everyone besides her, but she can deal a devastating blow if the situation calls)

I know i'm kinda late tom comment but I think tou forgot something for Olberic. It's what I have done for most of my playthrough. I use Olberic as a Merchant so he could use sidestep while being under incite. This way, exept when the attack is supposed to hit the whole team. You never take damage. Of course I used Tressa to give him bp later because at some point he will need at least 2 sidestep every turn

I let Olberic take a second job of thief. It worked pretty well I think. Self healing skills of the thief suit Olberics high physical damge. Especially after I got the legion knife from challenging the NPC.

Give Alfred the hunter job skill hes an expert with the bow and arrows. Give Obelic the theif secondary job use armor corresive and then use his warrior focus skill to unleash a very powerful attack.

Personal Opions Ophilia: Dancer is best option if you have a lot of damage on your team, like having in one team the Aphotecary, Warrior, Thief and Hautter class, if you have that four jobs in your team you have a lot of damage and a dancer is needed, but if you have have just !two! damage classes or just one person have the lot of damage (like Olberic with Warmaster and Tressa Thief but only for debuffing) is better to use the Scholar class on Ophilia (obviosly only if Cyrus isn't on your team) Tressa: RUNELORD RUNELORD RUNELORD (but if you don't want to go for the secret boss you can use thief or haunter, they are good chosses) Olberic and Alfyn: In my personal Recomendation, having one of them with the job of the other one is always needed in a good team, i prefer Alfyn for the potion maker unique ability that he have, but Olberic is great too, they can be a Huge defensive wall for all the team and with the Warrior Divine skill and the apothecary Axe's damage Skills they are so good BUT if you want to have both in the same team, go for warmaster with olberic and hauter or merchant with Alfyn

Cyrus is considered the Rogue, just because his ability potentially damages your reputation. However, Alfyn is the more rogueish in personality, and upbringing...:p PS: if Cyrus was "noble" the noble crew would spell "Octo"...;p

There is no reason to wait to multiclass whatsoever, leveling one class first might be optimal, but getting the secondary class asap gives you access to new abilities as well as a stat boost.

Cyrus is the least rogue rogue hero isn't he? that aside I find with my Cyrus character group (the other file I started up I went with Alf first); Tressa is actually hard for me to deviate from scholar merchant in the face value and mish mash in the learned skills. I find the best support she can give is being a powerhouse caster with 4 elements... In short I use tressa to shield break along side Therion... Therion is whom I cannot decide on.

Scholar tressa works....SHOCKINGLY well. Like, I've seen people's playthroughs where tressa just MELTS enemies with a full charge double hit magic attack.

I dont see why you talk about passives skills when talking about what subclasses to pick for each character . Any character can have any passive ability regardless of their current sub class. Also you don't need to spend time as a sub class to get their passive skills. Eg.you can get the final cleric passive "saving grace" on all characters without ever using them in battle as a cleric. Its better to just pick and choose the best sub class passives for a particular character from among the 8. For cyrus and ophelia for example work well with Sp saver from merchant Second wind from dancer Saving grace from cleric Hang tough or encore from dancer Your sub class choice should be inflenced on the secondary skills and extra stat bonuses- not the passives

Sanjay sorry if this question is stupid but how do you equip passive skills from other jobs? I went to the equip support skill menu and only the own job's skills showed up. Is it because I'm still early in the game or did I miss something?

Yve W The 8 subjobs first have to be collect from the shrines, you dont have to fight anything. Then when you put a subjob on a character you have to spend JP to unlock the new skills and passive skills exactly how you did it with your original job. Then when you go to equip new support skills it will be there. Then you can switch subjobs if you want and you still have all the passives you unlocked with your JP

it is HIGHLY NOT recommended to take 2nd job SKILLS before maxing out the 1st job skills, but.. it is HIGHLY recommended to take the 2nd JOB as soon as you can because it gives stat boosts (albeit slightly) and weapon options. because you still retain the 1st job, and taking a 2nd job is considered ADDING rather than CHANGING, so nothing to lose, only to gain. just stay away from those new skills until you've maxed out the 1st ones.

I have obleric and its lock because starting char then i would like to pick a therion an tressa in party because money collecting and purple chests wich 4th char fits best and wich secendary jobs are good in this combo i think as 4th pick maybe it would be best to pick ophilia with apthecary secondary and for obelric i would like to be a thief because self heal with lifesteal as tank would be great?

This was a good video information wise, but I wish you could've chosen better gameplay to match what you were talking about. It would've been more helpful to see the Secondary Jobs in action for the characters you described instead of just random footage. I just got confused when I was seeing gameplay of Cyrus when talking about Tressa for example.

At 1:50 3:17 6:09 9:34 I have no idea why you used my footage here but that was something. IDK how that information on screen isn't distracting too since it has stuff unrelated to your video on screen. I mean if I was making this I would of at least gotten footage related to the video instead of my random footage with distracting out of context text.
