Imagine being the 15th generation of crewman upon a pilgrimage ship inside the warp. You have spent your entire life not even knowing what reality looks like, the entirety of your existence being of bulkheads and engines. Until one day, when the impossible occurs, and your ship enters the holiest of star systems, the work of your entire bloodline is nearly achieved. Then the ship is promptly vaporized by a passing frigate from Battlefleet Solar, because your ship failed to follow some obscure protocol. Welcome to Warhammer 40,000.

The overly exagerated description of the scale of that gate makes me rather tempted to build a replica of it in Unity and go visit it in VR. He gave pretty clear dimensions of it's height as being half a kilometre tall. Everything else I can just extend it's dimensions to go on infinitely into an unlit space and call it accurate. Warhammer makes grandiose description and fanatical exaggeration an art form. It's always been interesting to see how effective it is at captivating people.

What's actually amazing is that this stuff happens in real life too. Not to lower the sanctity of such acts but St. Jerome the Translator of the bible from Greek and Aramaic to Latin Vulgate made a pilgrimage at the end of his life to the actual manger of Christ. There he laid his head upon the resting crib of infant Jesus and died. St. Benedict patron of Europe, was near his death due to sickness and called his servants to take him to receive communion and after with the aid of his servants holding his arms to the sky and saying prayers, died.

Wow. Incredible word smithing. Terraquice realm, my goodness, I can just feel the throngs of humanity undulating through the scene. Truly excellent. I subbed two days ago and have been just pouring through your playlists. Your the best Lore channel hands down.

Wonderful! :D I don't think I've ever heard an account go into so much detail about the experience of the heaving mass of humanity in 40k before.

This might be your best video. Your descriptions are really vivid and grand without being pretentious. You also always do an exceptional job of expressing the the very complex melancholy of the 40k universe.

I have never played the game, and propably never will, but the universe of WH40K is one of my all time favorites!

Incredible video. I've seen many great videos about 40k, but this may be one of the very best.

A good book to read if you wanna immerse yourself in Holy Terra is the Carrion Throne by Chris Wraight. Easily the best depiction of the setting I've ever seen.

I listen to this every night because I find it so calming to listen to and delightfully bleak. Haha. It send me to sleep. It’s a fantastic piece of descriptive 40k writing. Very well done. If you can it would be great to have more of these. Lore stuff is fantastic as well but this was a journey into 40k and that doesn’t happen often. Many thanks for your work.
